Description
Escape to a very special woodland hideaway in the heart of Fynn Valley. Our well-equipped and thoughtfully converted 1968 Bedford truck with wood burner and underfloor heating sleeps 2 plus 2. It nestles among towering trees and lush greenery overlooking grassy meadows and the Fynn River. Guests have access to our 25 acre nature reserve, one of the most diverse County Wildlife Sites in Suffolk. This retreat is perfect for nature lovers, with all the comforts needed for a restful, memorable stay. The space Park your car in our private parking area near the farmyard, and take the 100-yard stroll through the woods to the truck and fire pit. A few steps lead you up to the back of the truck, where you'll find fairy-lit outdoor seating and table, ideal for enjoying meals amidst the natural beauty. Inside the Truck Dining Area: Table and chairs set for indoor dining. Kitchenette: Equipped with a gas hob, fridge, stainless countertop and a Butler's sink with hot and cold mains water. The cupboards and drawers are stocked with cutlery, crockery, pots and pans, tea, coffee, cocoa and locally grown and made preserves by The Little Preservatory. Living Area: Light the wood burning stove and relax on the handmade sofa, which can be converted into two single bunk beds if needed—just let us know in advance. Underfloor heating will keep you toasty, and there are drawers full of board games, making the space ideal for cosy evenings whatever the weather. Sleeping Area: Climb four steps to the comfy king-sized bed, nestled above the cab of the truck. Tech Essentials: there are mains sockets and 12V USB sockets (A and C) for charging devices. Wi-Fi is accessible by the parking area but not at the truck itself, encouraging you to unplug and unwind. There is decent phone signal from most data providers. Bathroom Adjacent to the truck is a separate bathroom trailer featuring sink, composting toilet, bath, and shower. Towels are included for your convenience. Outdoor Amenities Fire Pit: Complete with trivet, cooking utensils, and plenty of firewood, perfect for cooking your meals over the flames or toasting the marshmallows we provide. Nature: The small woodland surrounding the truck is full of colour all year round, but is most remarkable when the ground is teeming with flowers, starting with winter aconites and crocuses in January, through to wild garlic, daffodils and bluebells in April-May. In summer it is a cool shady place to lounge and gaze at the sun dappled leaves, while next to the truck is a secluded grassy area for soaking up the rays. In autumn you'll find plenty of conkers and acorns, perfect for young ones to gather and play with, and blackberries in the hedges to hunt and munch. A gate at the bottom of the woodland leads to the farm's original old orchard full of wild flowers, which you can stroll through to reach the Mere—a beautiful 5-acre body of water set within a 25-acre private nature reserve. Enjoy birdwatching from the hide, where you might spot kingfishers, raptors and other wildlife.
