Eco-yurt riverfront, soaker tub, secluded, private

This is a romantic getaway for two on the banks of the Tay, 10 minutes West of Perth, Ontario. Secluded and quiet with private swimming access to the river where it slows and flows over a large flat rock bed. Fully solar, this 20 foot diameter yurt has a queen bed, 3 piece bathroom, propane “wood” stove, T.V. and Starlink wifi access and fully stocked kitchen with coffee and tea service with a Keurig or bodom. Off season and winter rental is available without running water. (see below) The space The yurt is located in a hay field set back from the Tay River about 100 feet from the shoreline. Two access points to the river allow for swimming and wading during the summer months. Experienced paddlers can canoe or kayak to the yurt from upstream, or paddle downstream all the way to Perth from the yurt’s location. Shuttles can be arranged with the host. A long gravel driveway with private parking and a gate ensures privacy and security during your stay. There are several gardens that provide seasonal fresh vegetables to harvest at your leisure. Guest access Guests are asked to use only the provided access points to the river to keep the rest of the shoreline intact. You may walk in the surrounding fields, excluding the last field with the greenhouse and residence at the far end of the property. Inquire with host if you would like to visit and tour the commercial gardens and greenhouse during your stay. Other things to note Winter rental and off season rental includes the period from Nov 1st to May 1st. The yurt’s water system was not built to operate below freezing temperatures. During this time running water may not be available. The water will remain on until temperatures fall below zero and return as soon as they go above zero consistently in the Spring. If you rent during this period, plan to have no water service, and if it’s on during your stay due to warm temperatures, it’s a bonus. The toilet and sink can be used normally. Buckets of water with a jug will be provided for you to fill the back of the toilet. One sealed 15 L jug of water will be provided for cooking and dish water. Bottled water will be provided in the fridge. Occasionally, due to lack of sun, the batteries may need to be recharged with a generator. The host will assist with this should it occur.
