We are delighted to welcome you to Vedalworks, our newly built home perfect for groups of up to 23. Inspired by one of our most loved properties, The Pictureworks (4.95* rating on Airbnb and over 150 reviews), Vedalworks provides the perfect country escape for every occasion. Designed to offer the perfect mix of entertainment and relaxation, Vedalworks offers a heated pool (May-Sept only), private hot tub, indoor bar and cinema room featuring a captivating 7ft Smart TV and SONOS sound system. The space Nestled in the heart of the picturesque Somerset Levels, Vedalworks is perfect for bringing together large groups of friends and family to create special memories to last a lifetime. A luxurious and open plan space, Vedalworks provides the perfect environment for a mix of seamless indoor/outdoor living. Fully accessible and furnished with state-of-the-art facilities, this property offers everything you will need to have a fantastic and memorable break. Whether you are celebrating a milestone birthday, anniversary or pre-wedding celebration, Vedalworks has something for everyone of all ages and interests. The house comes complete with a private bar and cinema, foosball and pool table, board games, wireless Sonos sound system and we can even provide a karaoke machine, perfect for an impromptu sing along. If you are looking for some relaxation, Vedalworks offers this too. De-stress in your very own hot tub (all year round), or even relax poolside, with access to our large heated pool, shared between our houses with private sessions daily (2.5hrs, pool open May - Sept). All bedrooms are en-suite and rooms can also be configured to suit your needs. Simply let us know who will be staying and where, and we will do our best to accommodate. We have also added an outdoor kitchen with large gas fired BBQ, prep units and all you’ll need for a summer cookout. If you’d like to give your stay that extra special touch, we can help with that too. We work closely with local businesses who offer great experiences you can utilise to enhance your stay. From hiring a private chef to cook a three-course meal for you and your guests, organising a massage or ‘pampering party’, to a cocktail making or life drawing class for something a little different. Whatever the reason for your celebration, we can provide information and contact details to help you book with ease, and create a special celebration to remember. While the house itself comes equipped with everything you’ll need to have a great stay, the surrounding areas also have lots to offer. Right next door, you’ll find family run Upton Bridge Farm Shop, perfect for picking up fresh coffees, pastries and locally sourced meat and produce. You’ll also find Harry’s Cider, an award winning artisan cider producer, run by cidermakers Harry Fry and son Toby. Pop over anytime and they will be happy to talk you through their different ciders and even do a tasting. Harry’s also run monthly ‘Cider Saturday’ events, bringing together cider and local street food. There are also two great pubs a short walking distance from the house - The Devonshire Arms, offering exceptional food made from locally sourced ingredients, or the Halfway House, popular with locals and famous for its buzzing atmosphere. If you need to stock up on supplies, you’ll find a large Tesco in the town of Langport (approximately a 10 minute drive away), as well as some small local shops and places to eat - we’d recommend paying a visit to the Little Bakery for the most decadent treats, and The Bridge, serving delicious breakfasts and coffee (they cater for vegans too). If the sun is shining, you could wander around Langport Vintage Market (10 am - 4 pm on the second Saturday of each month), or have a picnic down by the River Parrett. You’ll also find craft beer at Fine Tuned Brewery, and private vineyard tours and wine tastings at Smith and Evans winery. Should you wish to venture further afield, within 20 minutes you can visit Glastonbury, famous for its Tor, Abbey and unusual shops and restaurants, Street’s Clarks Village, for a spot of factory outlet shopping, several wildlife sanctuaries, multiple National Trust houses and open gardens, Haynes Motor Museum, The Fleet Air Arm Museum and more. Within one hour you can also visit two coasts and the towns of Bristol, Bath and Exeter, as well as Dartmoor, The Quantocks and The Mendips. The possibilities are endless! Guest access This property is fully accessible and includes a wet room optimised for wheelchair access, complete with comfort height toilet and shower seat. Guests can enjoy a private bar and hot tub, plus a selection of indoor and outdoor games, which are for their sole use. As well as access to the shared heated pool, guests can also utilise our large field (around a ten minute walk away), which can be used for activities, picnics and games, or if you have an activity like archery planned this can take place in the house grounds. There is parking available for six cars at the house, although we can arrange more if needed. If you are travelling via public transport, there is a Berrys bus from London that stops five minutes away and nearest train stations are Castle Cary (20 mins), Yeovil (25 mins) and Taunton (30 mins). There are also local taxis and minibuses you can organise to help you get around once here. There will be someone available to welcome you when you arrive, and to help with anything you might need once here. But if you don't need us, you won't see us. We work hard to make sure guests' privacy is respected while ensuring facilities like the hot tub and pool are maintained to the highest standards. If you would like, we can help you tailor your celebration or holiday with catering and meals in local pubs, as well as activities on-site such as laser shooting, archery and pampering, or off-site such as cider tasting, golf and clay pigeon shooting. Please just let us know, and we will be happy to help. Other things to note There's a wealth of activities to select from during your stay. Arrange for a chef or catering service, plan meals at the local pub, or indulge in massages. You can also partake in cider and wine tasting sessions, or test your skills with archery and axe throwing. The possibilities are endless.
