Charming 125 year old cottage has been renovated to host your family and friends. A creek lines the backyard. Located 8 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway & 15 miles to downtown Asheville -- explore hiking trails + waterfalls, Haywood Road in west AVL and the Biltmore Estate! Return to this property and relax in the hot tub, rest by the gas fireplace or sit in the large back porch near the creek. Use one of two grills to cook dinner then play volleyball, cornhole, and horseshoes. The space AWD/4WD is NOT needed, flat driveway NEW summer 2025: new fenced area off kitchen door and new swingset inside the fence with 2 swings and one larger saucer/flat swing (no yellow baby swing as in the photo) Main Bedroom: king and private (shower) bathroom Bedroom 2: queen + twin with door directly into hall (tub/shower) bathroom (pack n play in closet) Bedroom 3: full over full bunk off foyer Bedroom 4: twin over twin bunk in an alcove off the hallway (no wall/door) White noise machines are provided. Bedding and towels washed in fragrance free detergent. Ceiling fans in K and Q rooms. Wall fan in F/F room and T/T alcove. (House does have AC.) Two full bathrooms: -- in the main bedroom (shower) -- in the hallway/shared (tub with shower) ****We love this property and enjoy sharing it with others. We have many return guests. We hope you can visit!**** IMPORTANT: House holds 11 but if your group does NOT have kids please look carefully at the beds and layout to decide your comfy max number. If you need one more queen bedroom/bathroom for 1-2 people (at least one being 18 yrs old), consider also booking our tiny home next door. Look in my profile to see the listing for the Creek Cabana. Click on my picture two times to see that listing. The properties each have their own driveway, creek access & yard and there is a fence and trees between the backyards. We try to provide most of the basics you will need - toilet paper, garbage bags, hand soap, shampoo/conditioner, dish soap, dishwasher tabs, laundry tabs and of course linens (beds are made before your arrival) and many towels (even for the hot tub). Basic spices and oils are provided along with keurig cups, ground coffee, creamers, sugar options, teas. The Blue Ridge Parkway is only 8 miles from the Cottage! Go back to the main road and turn right. It will snake you up the mountain to the Parkway. Turn right to visit the Pisgah Inn/Restaurant/Gift Shop spring-fall, hike Mt. Pisgah or drive further to our favorite - Graveyard Fields. It has a bathroom, beautiful river and waterfalls. Looking Glass Falls, on 276, is very pretty and right by the road. Sometimes in the winter, the gate is closed at the top of 151. Candler food: Sweet Southern Funk Food Truck, Doc Brown's BBQ, Dripolator, Whisk bakery, Budgie's Bakery and Griff's Kitchen & Bar are nearby. Ingles (a large grocery store) is on Sandhill Rd in Candler. Taco Billys, Biscuit Head, Sunny Point, Pizza Mind are a few of many popular options on Haywood Rd in west Asheville. Zambras, Chai Pani, Curate, Laughing Seed are downtown along with many others. The Wall St Parking Garage is easy in/out. Visit the historic/new S&W Market and the Grove Arcade (foot soak+shoulder massage at Wake). Many breweries can be found in the Asheville area. The grand lobby at the Grove Park Inn has a fantastic view of downtown Asheville and the surrounding mountains. The garage has a fee. Make a reservation at Edison or the Terrace or grab a drink & snack in the lobby. The Biltmore Estate offers the house tour, gardens, winery (the Bistro restaurant is my fav), walking trails and restaurants. There's a small farm 'zoo', playground, historic barn and ice cream shop at Antler Village. The Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce (Visitor Center) located at 36 Montford Avenue has a wide range of local information (literally hundreds of brochures ranging from restaurants to zip-lining to local breweries to comedy tours, etc.). --Relax in the hot tub before or after your Western North Carolina adventures! --Watch your kids play in the creek or put a camping chair in it and read a book with your feet in the water. --Put your feet up in the living room by the gas fireplace and relax. --Play foosball/pool on the screen porch while listening to the creek. A dining table and two couches are also on the porch. Propane grill is outside the porch. Doll house and barn for kids to play with. --Cook dinner on the charcoal grill in the Games Barn. Eat at the dining table then relax while watching your friends and family play volleyball, cornhole, giant jenga and badminton. --Kids can hide in the window seat in the twin over twin bunk nook and play or read. --Take a nap or read a book on the 'hidden' side deck. --Extra camping chairs (in the screen porch bin, by the firepit or out in the Games Barn) are provided and can be moved around the property to meet your needs. Enjoy the large, flat yard with a small pond (no swimming), creek for wading, swingset and firepit. Two kayaks are provided for use on the pond. Supervision of children is required. There is a new fence off of the kitchen door/deck for dogs or small children. Use at own risk. The new swingset is also in the fence. There is no baby swing as the photo shows. 2 grills: gas & charcoal. One extra/spare propane tank is provided along with one bag of charcoal + lighter fluid. Parking for 7 cars in the flat driveway (no AWD or 4WD needed). High speed internet. Netflix is provided on the 2 tvs. TVs are in the main bedroom and the living room. Cell service is spotty here. Turn on your wifi calling. Hot tub provided as a free bonus. Also provided as a free bonus: keurig pods, ground coffee, sugar, various tea packets, creamers. --One couch is Down filled --All twins are standard 3x6 mattresses --Both bunk beds have bottom bunk on/near/low to the ground Please: no smoking no glitter/confetti outside quiet hours 10pm-8am do not use wood stove in dining room do not pour grease/oil down drains (put in trash) do not swim/stand in pond due to quick-sand like bottom no cats please, due to extreme allergies If you are new to Airbnb, we highly recommend downloading the app to your phone. This will allow you to get information about your stay quickly and it is the easiest and fastest way to communicate with us before and during your stay. Similar to most properties --- If the power goes out: no wifi/tv, heat/AC, hot tub can't reheat but will maintain temperature for awhile & no well water will be available. The gas fireplace in the living room will work and you can keep using the toilets by using creek water (make sure no debris in it please). Outdoor grills will still work (charcoal and propane). By finalizing the booking, you are confirming that you have read, understood and agreed to all House Rules (if you can't find them, do an inquiry and I can message them to you). By finalizing the booking, you are agreeing to hold the host harmless for use of the property, hot tub, kayak, lifevests and/or swimming/creek/pond area. Accidents: Guests agree to hold the owners harmless for any accident or injury whatsoever that may occur on the property during occupancy. Accessibility:: one step onto the front porch landing, then a step over the door frame to enter the house. One step down to access the back screen porch and steps down to yard. Main bathroom has a walk in shower with shower stool and grab bar, one step in. Back and side yards can be accessed without steps by walking around the exterior of the house. We love this property and enjoy sharing it with others. We have many return guests. We hope you can visit!
