Other things to note Stavanger 2025 Highlights January: Festival of Lights Glow Light Festival lights up the dark month of January with magnificent light installations all over town. Please see the light installations from January 18 to February 2. April: Four Day City Festival From 24th to 27th April, the streets and city spaces will be filled with music, dance and storytelling. The main attraction of the city festival is the performance "The Story of Our City", which shows five central places in Stavanger: Bjergsted, Domkirken, Skansenkaien, Arneageren and Tou. Each place will in a unique way help tell the story of the city. June: 900x Yay! During the Pentecost 6th – june 8th there will be some people and music in Vågen! On June 7, Engøyholmen Kystkultursenter (Landsregattaen) recreates in 1868. June: Gladmat i Pedersgata During the Food Festival, Gladmat, from June 25th to 28th, Pedersgata will be filled with local food, history and the world's best long table! Pedersgata pods the city's rich history, offering a diverse range of global food experiences, while also serving as the gateway to Stavanger East and its many cultural and culinary experiences. July: Emigrant ship "Restauration" repeats the sail A copy of the emigrant ship "Restauration" repeats the sail from 1825 and sets sails from Vågen in Stavanger, with a course towards the promising country of America! This was the first organized Norwegian emigration and many would follow suit.  A copy of the ship from 1825 is built here in Rogaland and the crew is trained and well prepared. Prominent guests will greet the ship as it sets sail, and speeches, songs and music will follow "Restauration" on the first part of the journey. August: Rational Music for an Irrational World In collaboration with the Chamber Music Festival, John Erik Kaada will present the work “Rational Music for An Irrational World”. Performed by himself, with the brilliant Christian Ihle Hadland on piano, the premiere of Kaada's work will take place in Stavanger Cathedral on August 10. August: Island hopping Øyhopp 2025 is a summer festival that will take place on islands close to the city center, including Lindøy, Steinsøy, Tunsøy, Langøy, Hellesøy, Kalvøy, Vassøy and Store Marøy. The nine-day festival offers much more than music: It will be a celebration of art, culture and diversity in all the beautiful city islands that are not connected to the mainland Join the summer festival from August 2 to 10. September: Into nature September 6, Stavanger 2025 and Stavanger Turforening invites you to a magnificent event on Fjøløy, outside Rennesøy. Here you can experience mighty natural forces and beautiful landscapes. In this event, residents gather for hiking and cultural experiences. September: Future Festival Ullandhaug will be a meeting place for knowledge and experiences. The festival gathers innovative powers and is a meeting place for students from all over Rogaland on 25 and 26 September. September: Michael Rakowitz – Exhibition The Stavanger Art Museum's exhibition with Iraqi American artist Michael Rakowitz takes on the role of historical monuments. The exhibition will show the artist's re-creations of lost monuments with Middle Eastern packaging materials. Exhibition opening September 27th. October: Stavanger Oratoriet Can history come alive? How have the people of our city lived and worked since the creation of the diocese in 1125? Stavangeroratoriet is a large artistic project with Tore Renberg as a copywriter and Anders Brunvær Hauge as a composer. The production describes the individual destinies and major events in Stavanger's history that were brought to life in a series of shorter pieces of music. Maria Drangeid is the director of the work, and Arne Nøst is responsible for the scenography.  Stavanger Oratorium is performed from October 15 and 17 in Stavanger Concert Hall. December: Into the future The anniversary year ends with "Into the Future", an event that combines culture, technology, and research, and takes us into the future after the anniversary year. The Ullandhau Tower plays a central role. Join the future on December 12th.
