The Old Dairy is the self-contained barn conversion annexed to Church Farmhouse, a traditional thatched 18th Century Somerset longhouse. Situated in a quiet village in the heart of the beautiful Somerset Levels is this attractive traditional small holding with a variety of outbuildings, cider barn, orchard and gardens to explore. The Old Dairy provides a perfect escape to the country in an idyllic rustic setting allowing you relax and unwind or explore all the best that Somerset has to offer. The space We are delighted to be hosting again after taking a break during the pandemic. We used the time to refurbish and upgrade the kitchen and shower room and are now looking forward to welcoming guests old and new to our little slice of Somerset countryside. The village of Othery lies at the heart of the Somerset Levels, with its fantastic flora and fauna and stunning scenery. With its proximity to must-see places like Wells, Glastonbury and Taunton and a wealth of nearby historic houses and gardens, Othery makes an ideal centre for exploring - whether on foot, cycling or by car - the historic and national attractions of Somerset. The nearby ancient market town of Langport offers a mix of small independent shops and modern amenities. Guests have their own parking area and separate entrance leading directly into the scullery kitchen. The barn is stylishly decorated throughout with a mix of antique, vintage and contemporary furnishings. The accommodation at the Old Dairy provides a large comfortable drawing room with sumptuous sofas, wood burning stove, sonos speaker, television, dining area and doors onto a patio terrace. The kitchen is equipped with a oven and induction hob, fridge, microwave oven, toaster, kettle, coffee machine and dishwasher. Also on the ground floor is a shower room with walk-in shower. A staircase leads from a further hallway to the light and airy first floor bedroom. A welcome breakfast basket is provided with homemade jams, preserves, local honey, porridge, muesli, yoghurt, fruits and our own pressed apple juice and free range eggs. Guest access Guests have direct access to a courtyard patio where you can take breakfast or relax an enjoy and evening drink. You are welcome to explore the gardens, wander in the orchard where you will find an abundance of seasonal fruits, or relax and unwind on the deck of the wildlife pond. Our friendly hens share these outdoor areas. Our central courtyard patio provides ample seating and a fire pit for cosy evenings beneath the stars. We also have a lit pool table which guests are welcome to use alongside our recently constructed Pétanque court. Other things to note Mobile phone reception can be patchy depending on your provider! Free wifi is available throughout the accommodation.
