Enjoy Haines in your very own centrally located (walking distance to main st) guest apartment. 2nd story with stairs up to a small private deck and entrance. You’ll be surrounded by forest and gardens. Sit outside on your deck and enjoy the birds. The apartment has its own bathroom, fully equipped kitchen and bedroom. Bedroom has a queen sized bed, suitable for 2 people. Perfect base for exploring Haines! Owners live in the cabin next door. Dogs on property. Dog friendly upon approval The apartment is a one bedroom/one bath space, living room and kitchen. You have a private deck with seating to enjoy the days or evenings. Wifi for work or browsing , and small TV with Netflix is available- please note that broadband is subject to being slow due to the remote area. Dog friendly (NO CATS)- dogs must be leashed outside of the apartment and not allowed to roam due to free range chickens. You will most likely meet our border collie, Stella. She loves people and will bring you sticks to your door. Guests are welcome to use the attached deck for an evening of relaxing (please only smoke outside) Additionally, a small firepit in front of the cabin is available for guest use. Unfortunately there is no luggage storage- please check in after 3pm with your luggage. Haines has no public transportation, please arrange your transportation before arrival. I live in the cabin next door and you will probably see me working on the farm. You will often see me tending to the animals (free roaming) or playing with the dogs. You’re welcome to your space (deck) and privacy as you see fit. Message me with questions or issues and will do my best to respond within the hour. The apartment is located in town, about 10 minutes walk to the Main Street. Ferry and airport pickups available at an extra charge via Haines transport, please message me about this. Parking space available (1 car max)- if you have an RV please let me know and you can park at the top of the driveway. Owners live in the cabin next to the garage, and dogs will be in yard. Please consider this when booking. Very quiet neighborhood, surrounded by trees and very private. Apartment has a deck with some mountain and ocean views. We have geese, ducks and chickens. They may be free roaming if we are home. They make sounds and occasionally are a bit smelly if its hot! Roaming nomads/tele commuters: PLEASE take note that this is rural Alaska. Internet is metered, expensive, and often spotty. Likewise, if there’s a storm or rough weather internet, cell service and power have been known to go out. Haines is home to over 800 brown bears. We are one of the few forested areas in town, and they may be around, especially around the salmon season. If walking around at night please make sounds, be bear safe and for your comfort and protection, there is a bear spray in the apartment for guest use. Please leave it behind at the end of your stay. End of stay: please place your towels and robes in the hamper and separate your recycling. We also offer a compost bucket for organics.
