Set in the heart of Verteuil a petite citie de caractere in the Charente we welcome you to Ma jolie petite maison, a one double bedroomed gite that sleeps 4. The building is over 200 years old and has been completely refurbished in 2024. With exposed stone walls and original fireplaces, lit by vintage French chandeliers and tasteful wall lights, the gite is both cosy and comfortable. During your stay you will have exclusive use of the heated swimming pool and a large Moroccan style barn. The space The spacious lounge, dining and kitchen area has a double sofa bed, arm chairs and fuel fire. there is a dining table and chairs by a window to sit and watch the world go by as you eat. The TV has English, French and International channels well as a superb selection of films, TV series and sport. Just off the lounge you can step down into the cave, a little snug where you will find a selection of games and books. There is unlimited fibre WIFI service. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and food preparation. The bedroom has a beautiful double French bed with a new memory foam mattress and luxury bed linen. There is a hairdryer and clothes steamer for your use. The shower room has a heated towel rail, shampoo conditioner and body wash supplied. There are radiators in the lounge, bedroom and shower and a fuel burner should the evenings get chilly and a portable cooling tower for warmer days. Outside you'll find a private terrace, with tables, chairs and a parasol to enjoy your morning coffee or glass of wine in the evening before you head off to one of the local bars and restaurants. You will find the heated swimming pool has loungers, a bistro table and chairs, pool towels and an outdoor shower. Guest access During your stay, you have exclusive use of the gite, terrace, barn and swimming pool. Other things to note Just a few minutes walk away brings you to the beautiful Charente river, a perfect place for picnics. There is also a park with a children's play area. Verteuil has a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants and a few kilometres away in Ruffec you'll find large supermarkets, shops and an indoor food market held twice a week. The pool is open for the summer season, it is cleaned and maintained by the hosts during your stay.
