The Keep Cool Apartment is a contemporarily styled, fully equipped, self-catering space where guests can enjoy a refreshing getaway or comfortable remote work location while visiting St. Lucia. Situated in the Beausejour hills of Gros Islet, we are only a few minutes from the highway for quick access to beaches and popular destinations such as Rodney Bay, Gros Islet village, Pigeon Point, Castries, the food truck villages, and just a 5 minute walk to the Daren Sammy Cricket Stadium. This self-contained apartment is on the back garden level of the Keep Cool Guesthouse, and has its own private entrance and amenities separate from the guesthouse. It is a spacious apartment, approximately 1,100 s.f./ 102 s.m. with 11 ft. /3.5 mts. height ceilings. It will comfortably accommodate up to four adults and an infant child. For entertainment we provide DisneyPlus, Netflix, and Samsung TV Plus. The TVs also have apps such as Plex, Fawsome, YouTube, and an internet browser. Guests will have full access to the entire apartment and the porch. Please ask before picking any fruits or vegetables. We are usually onsite, and will be available to assist guests with their questions, and to help coordinate activities. When we are unavailable, we will ensure there is someone available to help guests. Our goal is for you to enjoy your stay at a self-guided pace. The Keep Cool Guesthouse is located in Beausejour, an upper-middle class area. Generally, a very peaceful location to relax throughout the day. On occasion music/sound from a live event at the cricket stadium that can be heard. Just a five minute walk to the cricket stadium, a three minute drive to the Rodney Bay Marina, and five minutes to Rodney Bay or Gros Islet. We are only ten minutes from three different beaches, and the popular Pigeon Point National Park. We can coordinate transportation between the airport or ferry, and the guesthouse. The guesthouse is located on a hillside, and having a vehicle would be convenient, or we can arrange for taxis. For those who are comfortable with a little bit of walking, it is only a 15 minute walk to the highway/main road where you may catch the local bus. The walkway to the guesthouse is on a slope, and may not be suitable for those with mobility challenges. We advise all guests to not wear shoes with high heels, slick soles or that have a loose fit. Depending upon a guest's activities, a combination of taxi, walking, shuttle, and bus would fulfill their transportation needs. Each guest's full name and valid phone number must be listed on the reservation. Only registered guests are allowed to stay overnight in the guesthouse. Guests may not have visitors without permission from the host. Housekeeping services are not available, but each suite has cleaning supplies for guests to use during their stay. Unapproved late checkouts will be assessed a fee of twice the room rate of the entire stay. This fee is not an extension of the reservation, and does not entitle the guest to stay for any additional period beyond the original checkout date. ***Long-term stays require a $350US Extra Services deposit paid via Airbnb's Resolution Center, and guests pay for actual electricity usage at the current Lucelec rates (the local utility company). Any unused amount will be refunded after checkout.*** We have a septic tank, and ONLY bodily waste and toilet paper may be flushed down the toilets. All other items are prohibited, including flushable wipes/toilettes. St. Lucia is a developing country with old and fragile infrastructure, and there are scheduled and unplanned interruptions to utility services, e.g., electricity, internet and water. It is a small island, so responses to issues regarding utilities or other services are not available 24 hours a day, and may take more than a day to resolve. When the island water service is interrupted, water is supplied by our on-site tanks, and the pressure will be less than what's provided by the water company. If there is an issue with our water pump, we will provide bottles filled with tap water for bathroom use. When the generators are used during an electricity outage, only 110v power will be supplied. All 220v outlets and appliances will be inoperable, including the air conditioners. You will hear and see truly free-range hens and roosters roaming around, and hear dogs barking. There are endemic insects, bugs, critters that are commonly found in locations with tropical climates. Please do not leave out food or beverages that will attract them.
