The Lincoln River House near Bristol & Middlebury
Entire semi-rustic riverfront property in central Lincoln! East & south windows bring daylong light into the bedroom; kitchen with modern aesthetic, gas range & slate floors; fully tiled bathroom; deck overlooking the river. Under a mile from the general store and ~4.5mi (9 mins) from quintessential Bristol town. Nestled at the foot of Mt. Abe within a stone's throw of some of the best swimming holes & hiking trails in VT and a beautiful drive to events and outdoors in the Mad River Valley. The space This hip, single-wide mobile home was purchased by a local craftsman in 2016 who gutted and renovated the house from tip to tail. Customized with a clean and spacious design to suit anyone looking for a Vermont escape. Perennials, berries, and terraced veggie gardens adorn the property. The master bedroom boasts organic cotton sheets and French linen duvet covers and a modern open-shower master bathroom that is fully tiled (yes, there is a door as well!) with modern fixtures and appliances. The home sits on the main road that leads to "downtown" Lincoln with a town hall, general store, and post office. There's a fire pit by the river. Drive times to local ski mountains per G Maps. Please note that these times are for driving door to door and that drive times in real life may vary based on which parking lots are available and the weather conditions over the Appalachian Gap: Mad River Glen: 22 minutes (12.4 mi) Sugarbush Mt. Ellen: 30 minutes (17.1 mi) Sugarbush Lincoln Peak: 36 minutes (20 mi) Note that the house is not suitable for children under 2-3 years of age. Guest access You have access to the entire property and your reservation includes the entire property - there will be no one else here during your stay. Other things to note The walkway to the house is a natural and rugged stone path. Please watch your footing especially in wet or icy weather! Vermont weather can change on a dime so please be careful and aware! The river's edge is also rugged, natural, and rocky, so beware of the varied terrain. We scramble down to soak or plunge all the time, but do so at your own risk and be sure to wear sandals or shoes to protect from rocks or other sharp elements that may have floated from upstream! In order to keep this home sparkling clean and to pay our cleaning crew a livable wage, we greatly appreciate your effort in cleaning your dishes before you check out. Your contribution helps immensely (and keeps costs down, too)!
