An open-plan ecological cottage located on a quiet country lane which was the first Roman road in the area. With its own entrance, two patios and extensive private grounds, this is an oasis of serenity. The contemporary design of the glass wall facing the mountains offers some of the best views in the area. It's private but not isolated, with the owners' home located nearby: we guarantee our guests total privacy, but are happy to provide assistance or recommendations if you so desire. The space The views of the mountains and foothills are the most distinctive feature of the Hay-barn, enhanced by the the distinctive glass wall facing the panorama and its ideal location situated on the edge of the Monti Sibillini National Park. Visitors kindly tell us it is some of the most outstanding scenery they have enjoyed in Europe. Many people come to paint and the hay barn can be used as an artist's studio. There is underfloor heating and hot water run by a wood burning stove during the winter, and solar panels for hot water during the summer. We service the Hay-barn ourselves. The Hay-barn has its own private sauna for guests, which is a delight most of the year. Please bear in mind that this property represents a union of tasteful and elevated interior design with sustainable systems and a rustic location. This means that though the home is geared to offer maximum comfort, it does not exist in a vacuum but experiences the unfolding of the seasons and surrounding flora and fauna. If you have a strong distaste for elements of the countryside/nature, this is probably not the place for you. A historic town is a ten minute drive away and has a range of services. Personalized local maps offer hiking and walking in stunning scenery. Culture and nature abound. Likewise famous cities such as Ascoli Piceno, Urbino etc. Mountain biking and rock climbing are also very popular, and a breath-taking turquoise lake is only a 40 minute drive away, surrounded by mountains. This is a tranquil location with outstanding biodiversity that suits nature lovers and quiet people who enjoy a retreat type of experience. Guest access There is a private driveway to the house.
