Jasper & Moss Turquoise Yurt #2

Jasper Moss is a glamping yurt retreat on Lake Huron, next to a public nature preserve and a 5 min walk from Lakeside Tavern. You can unplug, rest, and rejuvenate comfortably close to the Earth, immersed in diverse flora, fauna, and geology. The onsite gallery offers workshops on en plein air painting, lapidary and felting arts and wood turning. We also offer guided rockhounding, hikes, fishing, and paddling. Jasper Moss is owned/operated by a BIPOC LGBTQIA family of 6. The space Yurt #2 is 2nd from the waterfront and is approximately 100 yards from the beach with a view of it through the trees, and a view of "Fairy Forest" which is a large Cedar grove just outside the yurt door. Beach rock paths are well lit, but this is not a wheelchair accessible site. Yurt #2 has a full-sized bed with new sheets, duvet and towels this season. Each yurt has a table and 2 chairs, an electric hookup, a bedside table, and a light. The kitchen is about 30 yards down the beach stone path. Kitchen space is communal with 2 other yurts if booked (up to 4 people). There is a fridge, a coffee maker, griddle and side burner, waffle maker, iced tea maker, toaster oven, and a propane grill available for use. Basic cooking utensils, preparation bowls/cutting board, and dinnerware are provided. No microwave. The bathroom is a separate building another 20 yards down the path. The toilet is a vault toilet similar to those in a state park but has good airflow. There is a hot water shower in separate room. Outside is a large sink on a covered deck. During your stay Jessi and Josie are living in the home on site with their 4 children. We are available in the workshop at many hours of the day and available at anytime via text or phone call. Other things to note *Bois Blanc Island is a beautiful island just East of Mackinac Island. It is less developed, with fairly well-maintained gravel roads and has just 2 restaurants and a small store. It is accessed via Plaunt Transportation ferry, and bringing a vehicle over on the ferry is recommended. There is no direct access via ferry to Mackinac Island. There are charter planes and that would be an option for a day trip. We can recommend "things to bring" on your trip, depending on what you desire to do and time of year.
