Our aspirant cells are our coziest, offering just enough space to accommodate those traveling alone and looking to maximize their budget. Aspirants would live and work in community for a short period to see if they were comfortable with the house and the way of life. The space At the Moreland Guesthouse, you are not renting a room in someone's private residence. We are a professionally managed former monastery turned self-catering inn and lodging house offering guests the opportunity to affordably stay in a unique setting while enjoying the amenities of home. Our property features private guest rooms, known as "cells", that are comfortably appointed with quality beds and linen. Each cell is thoughtfully decorated with a peaceful mix of modern and antique furnishings. Guests share a dormitory style bath, renovated kitchen, well-stocked butler's pantry, relaxing parlor room and refectory. Guest access To ensure a consistent and smooth experience for all guests, we do not allow remote check-ins. Our innkeeper must meet and greet all guests in person at the time of arrival. Check ins are by appointment only and are scheduled in one-hour intervals between 1:00p - 9:00p. Guests arriving more than one hour after their scheduled arrival window or after 9:00p are not guaranteed access to the property unless communicated and prearranged. When this happens, the first night’s stay is non-refundable but these guests may check-in the next day as early as 7:00a. Travel details, such as flight numbers and times, are required before we can approve and schedule arrivals after 9:00p or accommodate unexpected delays. All guests are given a key to our main entrance and to their guest room. Once guests are checked-in, they may come and go as they please. During your stay While guests are left with their complete privacy, we are always available to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible. Other things to note Guests booking this listing should know the following: (1). Our property has limitations on renting rooms to local guests. Government issued identification with a home address that is not within 50 miles of the property is required. Exceptions are possible but must be pre-approved. (2). Our property is not suited for children under the age of 10. (3). We are a self-catering inn. While common areas are cleaned daily, housekeeping does not service guest rooms during your stay. (4). The nun’s lived modestly which is reflected in the size of our guest rooms. Only our Novitiate (Standard) and Prioress (Deluxe) rooms can comfortably accommodate two (2) people. (5). We do not allow more than two (2) guests per room, including children.
