The space During the First World War the Royal Arsenal experienced 29 Zeppelin raids and throughout the Second World War endured 25 aircraft and V2 bombing raids such was its importance in the war effort. After the Second World War the Royal Arsenal sadly fell into decline and it closed its doors in 1967 and was eventually sold in the 1990's, ending 300 years of continuous use as a strategic defence facility. Since the beginning of this new century Royal Arsenal has been enjoying a new lease of life as a stunning riverside development becoming more of a stand alone community with enviable commuter links, including an in-site Elisabeth Line station.
