Stable Cottage in Wheddon Cross is a welcoming and cosy retreat, for anyone looking to escape to the country for some relaxation. The location of Stable Cottage presents excellent opportunities to walk or cycle, whether you choose the open slopes of the moor towards Dunkery Beacon, or wooded Avill valley below, famous for its snowdrops. From the cottage, there is direct access onto footpaths to Dunkery, Snowdrop Valley and many other routes. The space Stable cottage is nestled beneath the village of Wheddon Cross (Somerset) and offers a cosy retreat for singles or couples looking for a holiday in Exmoor. Stable cottage is a single storey property and sleeps up to 2 guests in one double bedroom. All village amenities are within walking distance. Sleeps up to 2 guests in one double bedroom Open plan living room with wood-burner Modern shower room with walk-in shower King-sized double bed Bed linen and towels provided Heating and electricity included Dog welcome (1 max) for supplement of £15 Guest access Stable cottage comprises of a open plan kitchen/lounge, a double bedroom and bathroom. There is a front garden set to lawn which guests are also welcome to use, which is beside the driveway laid to gravel, whereby one car can be parked. The vegetable garden adjacent to this garden is private and not accessible to guests. There is a barn adjoining stable cottage. This barn is planned to undergo renovations so we ask guests not to go near the site due to safety reasons. If your dates will cross with building works we will inform you at the time of booking. Works are expected to begin in October 2020. Other things to note Stable Cottage is sat next to a farm where there are pigs, cattle, chickens and ducks. Eggs are for sale in the farm shop, and in due course we plan to have more of our produce available. Stable cottage is within walking distance of Wheddon Cross. When you leave the property and go through the wooden gate, turn left and walk down the concrete drive. Before you cross over the cattle grid, there is a track bearing left up a hill through a wooded area. Go up this track following the sign posts to Wheddon Cross. When you are almost at the top of the hill, turn left through a gate and walk across the cattle market. On the other side of the cattle market is the village of Wheddon Cross where there is a pub, village shop and petrol station.
