Other things to note 🌸 The Story of The Rose Cottage Welcome to The Rose Cottage, our little piece of heaven on Lake Huron. For more than 20 years, I’ve biked this shoreline with a wonderful group of retired nurses — we call ourselves The Biker Chicks! Every ride from Point Clark to Kincardine is full of laughter, stories, and a well-earned lunch that cancels out the workout. Each week, I’d pass this charming cottage and think, what a beautiful spot. Even from the road, it gave off such a warm, positive vibe — the kind of home that makes you smile just looking at it. One day, I saw an open house sign, stopped in, and instantly fell in love. The view, the bike trail and boardwalk, the coziness, the feeling — it was perfect. I later learned it had belonged to a woman named Rosalind (“Rose”), who passed away shortly after she and her husband moved in. Her husband, Bill, stayed for years, listening to the waves. To honour her memory, I kept the name The Rose Cottage and filled it with antiques and a touch of “Beachy Gramma” charm, as my sons like to say.
