Description
Quiet getaway, nestled in the Cévennes forest in Lozère, France, 15km away from Le Bleymard, where the Stevenson Trail passes. Cozy, newly renovated, rustic library with small kitchenette, wood burning fireplace. Hike or bike up the nearby mountain passes and its rushing creeks and waterfalls. Fish for trout, or take a relaxing rest in the thermal baths, 6 km away. Accessible by train, direct from Nîmes. The space Note that if you are more than 4 people, you can also rent our other AirBnB for another 4 people on the other side of the courtyard. The living space is roughly 40 square meters in total. There is a living room, small dining area, bathroom, and upstairs mezzanine sleeping loft. Outside a courtyard is available for dining, grilling and star-gazing at night. You have access to the meadow and stream out back as well. For pets, we will ask you to pay a 200€ refundable deposit through the AirBnB resolution center. After checkout, once we verify that everything was as before, we re-send you the 200€ back, again through the Resolution Center. To make sure that there is enough hot water for the end of the day, please switch, at the beginning of the day, the automatic hot water tank switch to "I", so that it heats the water during the day. (To save energy, it usually waits till 10PM to start heating the water.) Guest access You have access to the entire library and bathroom for yourselves alone. You have full access and use of the courtyard between the houses, but we will likely cross courtyard to access other buildings / get mail on property on occasion. Other things to note Space not suitable for small children. The mezzanine area with books has only a small railing and is not childproofed. A small, narrow staircase leads to sleeping loft which may be unsuitable for guests with limited mobility. Space is best for family or close friends if sharing - the sleeping areas (in mezzanine and living room) are shared. Heating the space is possible with the wood-burning fireplace and guests have access to our woodpile. Small electric radiators are available for additional heat if needed. In the heat of the summer, our house is a perfect escape from the sweltering heat elsewhere! House temp is moderate and evening temps in summer are most comfortable. Our refrigerator is vintage and likes to jingle quietly on occasion - that sound and the quiet fan of the chimney if you are burning wood will be the only noises you'll hear. Sleeping is otherwise quiet as can be!! Starry skies can't be beat!
