Cantillons Cottage

Time for a digital detox? Then you’ll love Cantillons cottage! We are not quite finished and so offering a discounted rate. Recently renovated off-grid cottage at the edge of the Wombat Forest, only 10 minutes from Daylesford and Trentham. The cottage is on the back of a large shed overlooking forest and farmland. Modern kitchen, wood fire heating (only), huge bedroom and spectacular bathroom. The cottage has a simple, elegant Scandi feel. Unplug and unwind. No wifi but plenty of books and CDs! The space Beautiful, recently renovated 1 bedroom cottage. Fully appointed kitchen, small lounge with nectre wood stove and beautiful views from the French doors. Huge bedroom with queen size bed. Bathroom with large bath, shower & toilet. Small laundry with washing machine (no dryer). Deck overlooking forest and boutique lake. Developing permaculture gardens. We have a flock of chickens and two lovely sheep, ‘Billy’ and ‘Bobby’. Guest access You will have exclusive access to the cottage and surrounding garden. The bush is off limits given the tree damage from the storms. There are tenants in the main house adjacent to the cottage . You are not permitted to go to the main house or the gardens surrounding the main house. You will have access to one car parking space and green space behind the cottage. Other things to note This is a large partly off-grid homestead. You will need to be able to light a fire as the wood stove is the sole source of heating. We light the fire in winter and provide wood, kindling and firelighters. You will need to keep the fire going to stay warm. There is electricity, gas cooking and hot water. We have rainwater tanks for drinking and bathing. There is ongoing landscaping and building works at the property, not when there are guests present, but you may notice a building or garden project underway. There are tools and materials in the shed.
