The Old Stables

Hidden away in a unique rural setting on the Somerset Levels.  Light, airy and cosy with log burner. Looking out of the glass frontage you will find our alpacas, goats, ponies and various poultry . Right on the edge of nature reserves this is perfect for cyclists and bird watchers. In the winter months you can witness the famous murmurations. Close to Clarks Factory Shopping Village with historic Glastonbury and Wells a short drive away. 100yards from country pub. Close to junction 23 on M5 The space This little hideaway is a converted stable block with lots of character -it even retains its original chewed woodwork ! It is a very quiet and private position . Open the bifold doors on both rooms right out making it into an inside out space if you want -You can lie in bed ,watch the alpacas and breathe in the country air ! The views and sunsets from here are spectacular! The underfloor heating keeps it very cosy ,there is also a modern log burner for that extra glow on those chillier evenings when you just want to snuggle up and watch tv .We provide logs free.We also have a lock up shed for cycles . Guest access There is an allocated parking area to the front of the property for 2cars and plenty of parking round the back if you have a smaller car to manage the narrow driveway . The Old Stables has its own entrance and patio area . Other things to note We provide tea , coffee , water , sugar ,local full cream milk, porridge,muesli plus a tasty snack for your arrival ! We also have chickens (fresh eggs when available ), ducks , geese guineafowl , tortoise and 2 dogs . You can meet and greet our 2 resident goats ,Shetland ponies and 3 alpacas . We provide you with the correct feed if you want to have a go . (Alpacas can’t bite and mine don’t often spit !) Please don’t give them any other type of food . You may catch us outside to chat when it’s feeding time or bed time for the livestock . We are happy to host one small dog at no extra cost on the understanding that it is well behaved , keeps paws on the floors and doesn’t bother our livestock . We can provide dog crates of varying sizes upon request . We do have 2 dogs of our own which you may catch a glimpse of (or hear barking at the goats ) in our garden on the odd occasion . We also have outside kennels for working dogs . We will provide wood free for the log burner and if you require more just ask . The cooking facilities can include a microwave /grill/convection combination oven, double induction hob , Ninja air frier , toaster -outside gas bbq ! Please note there is a water feature on the patio ,large glass bi-fold doors and a woodburning stove . We don’t generally cater for children or babies so you would need to provide everything you would require and at your own risk . We do not accept any responsibility for any accidents .
