Description
On the heights of a charming little mid-mountain village, our house offers a living environment in harmony with nature. It is the start of many hiking trails. The garden, which is cultivated, is inhabited by rabbits, chickens and ducks! They require a minimum of attention, to the delight of little ones… and grown-ups! The space This former Vosges farmhouse dating back to 1766 overlooks the village and offers stunning mountain views. We renovated it in an environmentally friendly manner and wanted to create a harmonious fluidity between the interior and the outdoor spaces. The 2 terraces open the house to the 10-acre garden, which alternates between cultivated areas and relaxation areas. On the 1st floor, you will find 2 double bedrooms, and a small children's bedroom, as well as a toilet and a hand basin. On the 2nd floor are 3 children's bedrooms and a large play area (legos, playmobils, drawings, etc.) and reading area. It can also be converted into an extra room for 2 people, thanks to the sofa bed. The shared bathroom is spacious: there is a shower, a bathtub and 2 sinks. It is located on the 1st floor; it can be accessed through the living room via an old miller's staircase or from the main staircase. Opposite the bathroom, on the mezzanine, you will find a small living room and an office. Finally, on the ground floor, there is the living room and the masonry stove that heats the entire house; the dining room, adjoining the large kitchen; the laundry room with its washing machine and dryer, and a toilet with a hand basin. Guest access Guests can access all areas described above. The accommodation is perfectly comfortable for 8 people, with its 2 double bedrooms for adults and 4 children's bedrooms (1 bedroom suitable for toddlers). It is possible to add 2 beds on the upper floor, in the play area, but there are no blackout curtains. There is also a "chauffeuse" in one of the children's rooms, for an extra child's bed. We have a garage in which there are outdoor games and bicycles (with helmets) for children, which are available to guests. For summer evenings, we offer a tarte flambée oven; wood is provided and you can take advantage of the outdoor kitchen to make the pies to bake. The garden has a vegetable garden that you can enjoy within reason: aromatic herbs, vegetables (the greenhouse is full of tomatoes in summer!) and fruits... depending on the season! Finally, 3 parking spaces are available in front of the house, the entrance to which is on the ground floor. Other things to note PLEASE NOTE: we have two cats, Poupou and Didi, who live with us in the house. These are cats perfectly accustomed to children (we have 4 children, from 2 years to 10 years), although it is always prudent to remain vigilant with toddlers… Didi is rather a homebody, she likes to sleep near the fire and go out during the day. Poupou likes to spend his nights outside hunting. They ask for food and drink twice a day, everything you need will be available. We also have ducks and chickens; the duck cage must be opened and closed morning and evening. It is easily accessible from the kitchen, the ducks are used to returning to their shelter on their own. The chickens are in an enclosure, they are autonomous in food and water. Their hen house has an automatic opening and closing, it is only necessary to check that they are all well returned in the evening because the fox is lurking… Note that it is preferable not to leave children alone in the chicken coop; indeed, the rooster, which is not fierce, must still be kept at a distance. The ducks are completely domesticated, they appreciate the company of humans. Chickens and ducks will delight you with their fresh eggs! Finally, we have rabbits. We will make sure to give them everything they need, so they will not require any special care. We have been renovating our house for 10 years now, although it is almost finished, some finishes are still waiting. Thus, some of the living room's plastering still needs to be perfected and we plan to create an additional bathroom on the top floor. But this does not affect the comfort of the spaces!
