Historic 4br 3story brick with a pool and patio
Bring the whole family to this great place with lots of room for fun. Easily walkable to downtown attractions- movie theatre, pizza, nightlife. Shaded, quiet street less than 5 minutes to boat ramps on Indiana’s 3rd biggest lake. Big backyard with pool, fire pit, covered porch and treehouse. Inside is big enough for two families, with a third floor kid friendly hangout area. Library has two add. beds and both doorways have pocket doors for privacy My IG is public, you’re welcome to check it out The space Large in town lot on a beautiful, quiet street in Brookville. Large trees for shading the home, alley for bikes or rollerblades, large grass backyard for throwing football, family games of baseball, playing in the treehouse or jumping on the (net-less)trampoline. Walking up the fronts stairs (yes, there are two 😉), the main bedroom was originally two smaller rooms, the previous owner converted the space into one massive room with a jetted tub, large shower, vanity, wet bar (mini fridge has been removed) and separate toilet/sink. The laundry is also on the same room as the toilet/sink, feel free to run a load! Unfortunately the fireplace in this room has been trouble to get working properly, so it is non functional. Big windows let in a lot of light during the day, curtains and the trees help it to stay dark into the morning. Portable AC goes down to 65° and has a remote- it’s typically a warm room with all the evening sun it gets so it’s needed! For longer stays, I’m glad to clear some dresser and closet space, but for weekend stays, we provide luggage racks. Feel free to use the Sonos, diffuser and any of the Monat products in the shower. Books over the tub are my 2024 reads- recommend all of them! Lamps next to the bed both have usb and usb-c outlets, byoc. Second bedroom is my oldest son’s room. But don’t worry, he showers regularly and there’s a Pura. 😉 It has a double bed and he has a shrine to his wrestling career on the walls, but also a desk and small sectional couch in the corner. Third bedroom is my youngest sons’s room and he has a shrine to both himself and his girlfriend. Foam topper on the bed makes sleeping super comfy, his room also has a small desk. The bathroom on the second floor has a tub/shower combo, toilet, sink, linen closet. Third floor is one monster room with two twins and a floor mattress when you first walk up the back stairs and two more twins at the front of the house. There’s a full bathroom (shower, no bath), small living room type area with a couch and a tv, and plenty of room and toys (LEGO table, Rainbow High and LOL dolls, a billion Nerf guns) for kids to entertain themselves for awhile. Lots of kids books too if you have a reader! Main floor is surprisingly open for a home built in 1894- but three sets of giant (and sometimes finicky) pocket doors help to close off any space if privacy is wanted. Living room has new couches, a working gas fireplace, a rocking chair, big windows and faces the street. Tv is mounted high, we have YouTube tv, prime, Netflix and a lot of DVDs. The Library is just off the living room and has a desk, Xbox, tons of books and games and a big table to sit at to play games or eat. If you are interested in reading a book and “checking it out” that’s totally cool with me- just mail it back pls! Or ask- if it’s not a beloved one, you can just keep it. 😉 There’s also a comfy day bed with sheets and quilts for two people to use at night. The blinds for all of the windows are heavy but are very room darkening. Dining room has a table, big windows and seats 6-8 if you would like to use the two folding chairs by the armoire-turned-pantry. Don’t mind the button collection with all my kids doing their various sportsing on the antique Brookville Bed. There’s a bar separating the dining room from the kitchen- we’ve served many Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners off of it! Kitchen has all of the basic appliances you need plus a big air fryer, insta pot and crockpots. There’s a small bar with three seats and both garbage and recycling. Feel free to use anything in the kitchen including the wine glasses in the upper cabinets, spices and baking ingredients and any condiments in the fridge- we have them all I swear. 😅 We have a picket fenced in backyard with our above ground pool, partially covered patio, outdoor furniture and gas fire pit. The area behind our garage isn’t fenced in and has a treehouse and trampoline- please supervise your kiddos as both have the potential for injury. Seasonly, feel free to pick a bouquet out of the garden (I like flowers better than veggies) and the tree at the very back of the property (before the “cliff” the street is named after) is a mulberry tree and in June has the best juiciest, messiest berries. And if you’re lucky enough to be staying here when the catalpa is blooming, the entire backyard smells like the most delicious honey. There is a wood burning fire pit along the back part of the parking area by the backyard- you’ll see it if you would like a fire. We have plenty of wood available for use. I do have 4 young chickens, absolutely feel free to give them any kitchen scraps or leftovers you might have. They’re sweet, flighty little gals. If you’re back next year, you can even make some of their eggs for breakfast! If you have a boat, street parking is your best bet. The house next door is currently vacant so feel free to take up the entire block. Our neighbors are great people and our friends, feel free to chat with them! They’re pretty chill about us carrying on late (they’re usually with us lol) but keep it to a minimum after midnight/1am. Please feel free to reach out to me about anything that concerns you- most of the time we are available immediately (I’m a night owl and husband is an early bird) and I want to make sure you enjoy this old lady of a home as much as we do. We feel so fortunate to live here and want you to feel as fortunate to visit! Guest access Whole house is accessible minus the basement and a few closets. Garage will be locked. Other things to note This *is* our family home, so it will not be “model home staged”. Our kids rooms are decorated as they like, things are lived in and not perfect, and although tidy and not cluttered, my home decorating motto is “I like what I like” lol. Everything has been professionally cleaned before your stay, but please let me know what we can do to make this home better for you- our new friends! ☺️
