Located just a mile from the Cumbres Toltec Scenic Railroad, our cottage offers the perfect base for a memorable day. The cabin features a unique loft bedroom that overlooks the main living area. For additional guests, a pullout couch is available. This getaway is designed for relaxation and offers a one-of-a-kind experience along the San Antonio River. Nature lovers will appreciate the close proximity to the New Mexico border, offering easy access to outdoor pursuits. We welcome pets. The space The cottage sits on a spacious 37-acre property that borders the San Antonio River. Its location provides guests with a sense of tranquility and seclusion, while still being conveniently close to local amenities. The property is located near Antonito, Colorado. In Antonito, visitors can dine at two local restaurants, explore the historic train station, and visit the oldest church in the state. Additionally, the renowned Great Sand Dunes Park is about an hour’s drive away. The area is ideal for enjoying beautiful sunsets, stargazing under clear skies, and observing wildlife. Guest access You are welcome to visit the river and explore the trails during your stay. Please note that these areas are part of a shared property that includes two other rental units. The cottage itself is separated from the other buildings by a tall privacy fence, and there is ample space between the structures to ensure your comfort and privacy. Other things to note The cottage features a loft bed that is accessed via a steep staircase and has low headroom. This design may not be suitable for guests who have difficulty maneuvering or are uncomfortable with this type of layout. If accessibility is a concern, we recommend considering our other listings, which offer easier access. In addition to the loft bed, there is a full-size pull-out bed located on the bottom floor, providing an alternative sleeping option. Please note that this cabin is not child or baby proofed. Families with young children or infants should take this into consideration when making a reservation. An antique wood stove is present in the kitchen; however, it is decorative only and not intended for use. Up to 2 pets are allowed and must be kept with you at all times.
