Private access to Lake Chocorua from this first historic summer home in Chocorua, nestled in the White Mountains. The iconic view of Mt. Chocorua is one of the most photographed views in New England. With exclusive lake access and private entrance, this historic mansion sleeps 8 with four bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, and a newly renovated modern kitchen with a sunny wrap around porch. The space All the rooms in the house are bright and sunny with original furniture from the historic home. There is one Master bedroom with a Queen bed (with AC), Sun Porch (2 twin beds with AC), one double bed (no AC/ceiling fan and box fan) with a small all-season porch with 2 twin beds (no AC/box fan) plus a couch that can be slept on off the kitchen. Guests will have exclusive access to the newer part of the house which is closed off to the rest of the larger home. While the house was built in 1874, the rental part is newly renovated with modern amenities. Nestled in the heart of the White Mountains, guests will have exclusive access to the private smaller lake of Lake Chocorua with raft and boat house provided with access to the larger Lake Chocorual. It is a 5 minute walk down to the lake through the blueberry field and woods (not wheelchair accessible). Guests are welcome to bring their own canoes, kayaks, paddle boards and life jackets for their use at their own risk. We are 2 minute drive to Lake Chocorua Grove with public beach access. The house is 15 minutes away from Mt. Chocorua trailheads--the Liberty trail, Brook trail, and Piper Trail. 1/2 hour from North Conway and Mt. Washington. 45 minutes away from Storyland in Glen, NH. 15 minutes away from the rustic, quaint town of Tamworth, home to the Other Bakery, the Tamworth Distillery, the Barnstormers, and Saturday Farmer's Market, and Swift River. Note: Guests must cross Route 16 to get from our house to our property down to the lake boathouse. Guests will have exclusive access to our dock, boathouse, and raft. The house does not have a TV but does have WIFI. The Tower Room (master bedroom/Queen bed) and the Sun Porch (2 twin beds) have AC and ceiling fans. The Yellow Room (full bed) has a ceiling fan and box fan and the Small Porch (2 twins) as a window box fan. The rest of the house does not have AC. No parties or additional guests permitted on the property or at our boathouse/dock. 8 maximum guests allowed. Chocorua Lake is considered a "pristine lake" and is one of the few lakes in New Hampshire that prohibits any motorized boats on the lake by law: RSA Charter 270. " No person shall use, operate, or have aboard or attached to any boat as defined in RSA 265-A:1, II a petroleum- or electric-powered inboard or outboard motor, or any other type of power motor, upon the waters of Chocorua Lake in Tamworth. You are welcome to use kayaks, paddle boards and canoes on the lake. Guest access The house is conveniently located right off of route 16 with a circular driveway and parking around the back of the house. Guests will have exclusive access to the rental section of the house and private entrance. Please note: There is no wheelchair access to the house (2 small steps into the house), 2nd floor, or accessible wheelchair access to the lake. However, you can drive to the public access at the Grove at the head of Lake Chocorua for accessible lake access. Please note: We have an on-site property manager (family member) living at the other end of the large home with their sweet, old greyhound Nikki. They will be able to assist with anything needed on-site. Other things to note When in season, usually late July and August, the blueberry field leading down to the lake is filled with blueberries, which visitors are welcome to pick. Wonderful for making blueberry pie and pancakes! Guests must cross Route 16 to get from our house to our property down to the lake boathouse.
