We welcome you to our rustic, cosy farm cottage (circa 1894) which has been in our family for six generations. The heritage cottage made from mud and stone, has recently been restored and renovated adding a fresh modern touch but we have carefully retained it's old country charm. Our farm is nestled in the picturesque rural Wheatbelt region of Avon Valley WA. We run sheep & grow cereal crops - our family business. We want you to relax & enjoy the tranquility of our farm & country lifestyle. The space Our property is surrounded by undulating farm land with crops and grazing sheep. The cottage is approximately 200metres from our home, sheds and a dam. An outside area with a garden, table & chairs to enjoy & relax. There is an outside bedroom with queen bed and a laundry. Inside the cottage consists of a lounge room with TV, bedroom with queen bed, sunroom with dining table & 6 chairs, kitchen & bathroom. During the cold winter months (May - 31st September) 🔥 AN INSIDE FIRE PLACE IS THE MAIN SOURCE OF HEATING in the lounge room, so there is the need for guests to apply wood safely to the fire to keep warm & cosy. Wood is supplied & stacked outside on the verandah for your use. WEAR WELDING GLOVES supplied when opening fire door & touching the side vents, adding wood & stoking the fire as it is hot to touch. Place fire guard in-front of the fire for safety. 🔥 There is also OIL HEATERS one each in bathroom, diningroom & outside bedroom to keep you warm. Breakfast ingredients supplied for guests to prepare. You are welcome to go for a walk but please stay on the surrounding road/tracks within view of the cottage. * For your own safety. We ask that you do not enter through any farm sheds or any closed gates as there may be sheep in the paddocks, and farm equipment. * There is a water dam near the cottage, please always supervise children. DRIVING TO NEARBY SHOPPING, EATING OUT, AIRPORT etc * Grass Valley Tavern Bistro – 4mins (4.6km) * Northam -15 minutes (15km)- Solar heated swimming pool; hot air ballooning; shopping; restaurants; hospital; Doctors; police; horse, greyhound & horse harness trot racing, Avon Descent boat racing; sight seeing - * Surrounding historic tourist towns approximately 30km - Toodyay, York, Goomalling, Meckering * 1 hour to Midland - 95km (closest Perth metro suburb) * 1hr 40 minutes to Perth City. * Perth Airport Domestic & International T1 - 1hr 20mins (105km) Guest access You will have access to the whole cottage and the outside garden fenced area. You are welcome to have a walk. Follow the main gravelled roads around the cottage area keeping the cottage in your sight. PLEASE DO NOT ENTER OR DRIVE ON ANY DIRT ROADS OUTSIDE THE COTTAGE BOUNDARY OR DRIVEWAY OR SURROUNDING FARMS - PRIVATE PROPERTY & OUT OF BOUNDS - Thank you FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY -: There may be sheep grazing in the paddocks around the cottage. You are welcome to watch them from a distance but please do not enter the paddocks or open or enter through any closed gates for your safety & to prevent scaring the sheep & jumping the fence. Sheds are out of bounds for your own safety, as there is a lot of agricultural equipment etc There is a dam approx 100m away from the cottage, please always supervise children.
