1930s detached house in the heart of Forest Row

Nestled down a country lane, our house is a hidden jem, close to the centre of the village. With an open plan living and dining room, 3 bedrooms and its own deck, patio and garden, it's the perfect place to spend your summer holidays. Forest Row is a vibrant village, set in the heart of the Ashdown Forest, Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and home of Winnie the Pooh. 45 mins from Brighton by car and an hour to London by train, it's the perfect base to explore the sights of Southern England. The space Welcome to our home! It's a 1930's bungalow, set away from the road, a 5 minute walk to the centre of Forest Row. The house has been fully renovated and modernised over the past 10 years by my husband who is a designer and bespoke carpenter. The living space is bright and airy with a double-height ceiling and an upright piano. The comfortable sitting room has a large L sofa, an armchair and a Smart TV. A woodburning stove is perfect for keeping cosy during the winter months. Step down in to the light, spacious and modern kitchen dining room, with heated concrete floor and a large dining table which can seat up to 8 people for a lovely sit down meal. The fully equipped kitchen, includes an electric oven and hob, toaster and kettle, dishwasher and a full size fridge. Sliding doors lead onto a spacious south facing deck, surrounded by bamboo. Step from the deck onto a gravel area and down to the rest of the garden and patio. Three bedrooms, one double and two singles with duvets, pillows and towels for each guest all have storage for clothes or personal items. You can also request use of a breadmaker, slow cooker and blender if you wish. Feel free to use our spices, herbs and condiments too. Outside the front door in an undercover storage area you will find a chest freezer and a tumble dryer. A modern bathroom includes a shower, bath, sink and toilet In the entrance hall of the house there is a built in laundry/storage unit with a washing machine Outside, the deck has a dining table complete with a parasol and 5 chairs. There is also a comfortable seating area on the deck which is beautifully shaded by bamboo. A part of the garden is currently being landscaped but doesn't affect the use of the rest of the garden. There is parking at the top of the lane, on the road, but cars can be driven right up to the property to unload. This is our family home - we live here with our children and welcome you to enjoy the space as we do, complete with some of our personal belongings. The house is not perfect but it’s deeply cared for and loved as a lived in family space. We do allow well behaved pets, but please ask that they do not climb on the furniture. Guest access The whole house, garden and deck are yours to enjoy. Other things to note A part of the garden is being landscaped, but this will not impact your enjoyment of the rest of the outside spaces
