On a quiet, safe residential street in the Elmwood District, but only a short walk to the bustle of Cal and downtown Berkeley. Only 2 blocks to College Ave where there are tons of shops, coffee houses and restaurants. Your room and private bathroom are in the back of the house overlooking gardens. It gets terrific light and is quiet. There is a short flight of stairs to the unit a a full flight of stairs to the bedroom. The door in the hallway leads up to the large roof deck. Feel free to take your coffee/wine and sit up there enjoying the 360 view of the area: the GG bridge, Claremont Hotel and Cal citadel. Or, take your laptop and surf the web. ( WiFI throughout the house.) I have a small hypoallergenic dog. Extremely friendly and sweet. See picture. Anything I can help you with, bring it on, as well as info about the area. It is a beautiful environment. And a neighborhood that is wonderful to explore! Guests can put a few things in the fridge and on the kitchen counter. No cooking. You do have use of the microwave. I am always available. I live here. I can always be reached via text or calling. The Ellmwood is a wonderful neighborhood. A Very friendly, quiet, beautiful neighborhood, tree lined streets with overflowing gardens, families, dogs and bicycles. Willard park is 2 blocks away. Tennis courts, weekends filled with people sitting on the lawn enjoying the day. College Ave. is 3 blocks away, restaurants, coffee houses and shops. Whole foods 5 blocks. You can walk to Bart (15-20 minutes)or take the 51 bus. CAL is a 20 minute walk taking either College Ave or Telegraph Ave. Also, the 51 bus will take you directly via College Ave to CAL. There are also many trails near by. All and all this is a lovely area offering you just about anything you want or need. Airports: From SFO BART direct to Rockridge Station, take the Antioch line. (Google will tell you to transfer go to Ashby station. Rockridge is much nicer.) From Oakland Airport take BART direct to Ashby Station on the Richmond line. Or, you can transfer to Antioch line at Oakland 19th St Station to Rockridge Station.
