With great pleasure we welcome you in Catania, happy to receive you in the small house Down South, which will be your home for the short stay that you'll spend in this city. Our mission is to make you feel at home, weaving relationships and creating bridges between different cultures! We just have to wish you a good stay and have fun! The space WHERE IT ALL BEGAN The house has been recently renovated and entirely by us, in fact, reflects a little our restless soul and our way of understanding the hospitality, which matures every time we return from a trip. Comfort, intimacy, peacefulness, are the feelings that we thought to convey designing the spaces in detail. _ LIVING BEDROOM Just inside, you'll enter an open space living room with modern decor, spacious and clean. In this room you'll find also the main bedroom equipped with a smart TV. You can also consult books ranging from art to architecture, visual studies. The house is air conditioned. _ ART GALLERY We thought to present our city and Sicily, decorating the largest wall of the house with a selection of original photographs, framed by professional framers of Catania. The illustrations you find around are also part of the gallery. In the kitchen, the striking wall covered with vegetation, is the background to some Sicilian vintage posters, framed with a deep assembly and museum glass. We hope you enjoy them! _ LOFT BEDROOM From the stairs, you access the upper floor. Here you will find 2 single beds that can become a double bed, according to your needs. The room is furnished with a smart TV and a desk, useful for writing, using the laptop, consult books. A wall of this room has been painted by an artist from Catania who has combined several symbols related to Sicily and Catania in a beautiful pop mural. Being a loft, the room HAS NO door and IS NOT bounded by entire walls. _ KITCHEN The kitchen is fully furnished and fully accessorized. _ INDUSTRIAL STYLE BATHROOM The bathroom is equipped with everything you need: towels, hairdryer, hygiene products, first-aid kit. _ TERRACE The outdoor area in front of the house is also at your disposal to sit or eat outdoors. Guest access PARKING Street parking can be found for a fee (€ 0.87) or free. You can also find a paid guarded car park (Parcheggio Pietro Lupo) just a 5-minute walk from the apartment. The car park has luggage room service. _ CHECK-IN & SELF CHECK-IN PROCEDURE Generally, Ilaria’ll welcome you at check-in. Otherwise, you will find the keys inside a safe box that you can open with a secret code. _ EARLY CHECK-IN We’ll advise you if it’s available. _ CHECK-OUT PROCEDURE Make sure to turn off the lights, air conditioning, and any electronics when you leave the house. Don’t forget to close the windows and lock the door. Then, you can leave your keys inside the safe box by entering the code you used to check-in. Thank you! Other things to note WHERE ARE WE? Down South is located in the historic center of Catania and in particular in the district called "Civita". The central location in which the accommodation is located, will allow you to easily walk to the main attractions of the historical and cultural heritage of Catania and the streets of nightlife. _ LET’S LOOK AROUND On foot you can reach: Palazzo Biscari, Largo XVII Agosto, Palazzo della Cultura (for art exhibitions), Teatro Massimo Bellini, Badia di Sant'Agata, Piazza Duomo, Via Etnea (the main shopping street), Villa Bellini (for green lovers), Ursino Castle, Greek-Roman Theatre, the fish market of Piazza Alonzo di Benedetto "A Piscarìa", the local market of Piazza Carlo Alberto "A Fera 'o Luni", the Benedictine Monastery. _ LET’S GO TO THE SEA! It's really easy to get to the sea. On one side you can reach the beach with sand. On the opposite side you can reach the cliff. _ VISIT VOLCANO ETNA Don’t forget to climb the highest active volcano in Europe!
