The space Just some steps of the beaten path,in a quiet village on the gentle sunny slope of Mt. Yatugatake , the about 100 years old traditional Japanese farmhouse Kominka Yado Koroku nests between tranquil fields and gardens ,with a view towards Mt. Kai- komagatake in the Minami Alps range. The house was carefully renovated and transformed into a gorgeous accommodation facility by the owner architect, to take you on a journey of the history and making of Japanese wooden houses. The surrounding area is rich on delicious food and small restaurants. From some of the many hot springs worth visiting, are beautiful views to Mt. Fuji. . For those who wish to slip back in time and discover the traditional charm of Japan, kominka Yado Koroku is truly a wish come true. soaking in the nostalgic atmosphere of times gone by while still having all the modern conveniences at your use. Needless to say, time moves slower here, perfect to savor every moment of the tranquil day-to-day life.we promise that your stay will be a wonderful addition to your Japan experience . The large kominka is perfect for friends and families traveling together, designed to be both homely but spacious with a modern twist. The most distinctive feature is the former “dirt floor” area called doma (土間 in Japanese). Traditionally the doma area of a Japanese house is used as a kitchen or a workspace where you can wear shoes. We decided to revitalize the doma area as the space it was meant to be, a spacious kitchen and dining area. In the late afternoon , after the sun leaves the house, please rewind in front of the fire before you have dinner. Taking off your shoes, stepping up to the living room lit by the beautiful paper lights by Isamu Noguchi, sitting in the MG501 Cuba Chair by Morten Gøttler and listening to old LPs. Other members of the group might enjoy a relaxing sauna, rewind and revitalize body and soul with the spectacular view into the starry sky. Later everybody comes together around the stone table in the former irori ( Japanese hearth) to experience some wine , beer or sake from the aerea , surrounded by the glow of the golden wall. Getting sleepy, choose between the hinoki ( Japanese cypress) bedroom, or the washi ( Japanese paper) bed room, each equipped with its own stove, watching the dance of the warm fire before you drift off into the night. If you decide to sleep in the tatami space, in the morning the sun and the birds will lure you into the garden, maybe picking some blueberries for breakfast.
