Description
A place with character, golden sunsets, sea views from each window, and that rare sense of calm you only find in a few special corners of the world. Welcome to Chalet Sissi Seaview – a truly unique place on Crete. The space Your holiday chalet is just 600 metres from the sea. Built on a steep hillside and surrounded by Mediterranean nature, it feels as if you’re living on your own little terrace above the water: beds with a sea view, balconies off every room and a wide panoramic view over the entire bay – from Malia to Stalida, Hersonissos and all the way over to the island of Dia. A coffee in the morning sun, a quick dip in the sea, a day trip or a hike – and in the evening, sometimes accompanied by the soft live music from the only nearby hotel, watching the sunset paint the sky. A stay at the chalet has its very own charm. The chalet is not a polished, sterile resort, but a lovingly cared-for, genuine Cretan home. In this authentic neighbourhood, you might hear sheep now and then, see the farmer passing by on his tractor – and most of the time it’s wonderfully quiet. At the same time, you’re only a few minutes from beautiful beaches, cosy tavernas, impressive caves, hiking trails and both small and larger harbour towns. The perfect mix for families, hikers or relaxed travellers who love nature, peace and still want short distances to great places and activities. Everyone who loves the real Crete feels at home here. And you won’t miss any of the comforts that make a stay pleasant: comfortable beds, modern air-conditioning, a washing machine and a kitchen you can truly cook in – with an induction hob, microwave, filter coffee maker, toaster and kettle. That’s why I lovingly call Chalet Sissi Seaview: “Feel right at home – but with a sea view.” If you have any questions about the house or the area – feel free to message me anytime! Other things to note What you should know in advance: - The chalet sits in the middle of Mediterranean nature – beautiful, but authentic. Insects like ants or little crawlers are part of it here, especially if windows are left open. - The hillside location gives you that fantastic sea view, but it also means a 50-meter uphill walk and is definitely not barrier-free. - So far, I’ve never had guests without a rental car – and I always recommend having one. Walking to the bus stop under the strong sun is hardly manageable. - And if you’re arriving in winter: the house has no heating, though you will always have hot water. The surroundings are typically Greek – a few unfinished buildings, and an authentic neighborhood with farmers, sheep, and the occasional dog barking at night. And yes, depending on the wind, you may hear a little live music from the nearby hotel for a short while in the evening. All of this is part of this unspoiled corner of Crete – calm, honest, and wonderfully genuine. For guests who appreciate exactly this authenticity, it’s the perfect place.
