Perfect base to set out and explore the cultural, historic and culinary secrets of the Languedoc or relax with your private pool and courtyard gardens. Welcoming guests since 2003 we are situated a short drive from the UNESCO world heritage city of Carcassonne and the market town of Limoux. The space You will have complete access to the old wine making farmhouse which was converted in 2003 and sleeps 6. Across the paved courtyard there is a holiday annex which also sleeps 6 and has a full suite of amneties. The private enclosed gardens and exclusive use of the pool is yours to enjoy when in season from May - September. You can enjoy al fresco living with the BBQ and there is a range of outdoor seating. The spacious and light lounge in the old Farmhouse has newly installed engineered oak floor and opens onto the beautiful courtyard and pool. There are 3 good sized bedrooms containing two double beds and two single beds. Plenty of space and the sun soaked terrace is often described as paradise by our guests. Moving to the guest house there is a wealth of original features and it provides the same comforts of the main house including TV with access to the same high speed internet. Here you will find 3 spacious bedrooms contain 2 singles and 2 doubles and an additional kitchen, lounge and bathroom. Both properties have private terraces to enjoy a bite to eat and a drink outside. Guest access Everything! Other things to note You will find the house a perfect staging ground to explore the rich history, cuisine and wine making traditions of the stunning region of the Languedoc; or just relax in secluded courtyard gardens and enjoy the pool and ambiance of this quiet and peaceful village set amongst the surrounding vineyards and rolling hills. The area is quiet and safe, and can be the starting point for walking and cycling expeditions and we are dog friendly with a safety barrier for the pool and enclosed courtyard gardens providing privacy and security. Montclar is a quiet and peaceful village perfect for an escape but please be aware there are no shops or restaurants just beautiful vineyards and your private tranquil pool and courtyard gardens. We therefore strongly recommend stocking up at one of the many supermarkets in either Limoux or Carcassonne on your day of arrival. Please see ‘the guidebook’ for a more detailed explanation with directions and note shops and restaurants are not often open on Sundays unless you visit Tourist hotspots but even there the selection is often limited. The area is serviced by three airports - Carcassonne, Toulouse and Bezier with the main carriers as British Airwaves, EasyJet and Ryanair if travelling from the UK. From Carcassonne you take route 118 to Limoux and turn off at Montclar (opposite Pomas) and follow the road through the vineyards until you reach your destination.
