Stadskanaal is located on the outskirts of Drenthe and Westerwolde. From here, you can reach the city of Groningen or Assen within 45 minutes by car. Leer or Oldenburg in Germany is also within reasonable reach. From Stadskanaal, there are beautiful cycling routes in Drenthe or Westerwolde.
