Mountain lodge with private natural swimming pond

Small electric hob, kettle, coffee machine, crockery and fridge. Approx. November - approx. March the well and washing area cannot be used - no running water inside or outside. The space The association “Verein 1000Kräuter - Qualität des Lebens” (1000 Herbs - Quality of Life), headquartered at the 1000Krauthof in Hinterholz, in the southern Waldviertel region, has now expanded its offerings with an association hut, where association get-togethers will take place in the future and vacationers will also be welcomed. Built in spring 2023, the wooden house is located directly on the edge of the forest of the Ostrong massif, the highest elevation in the Waldviertel region, and exudes a cozy and nostalgic atmosphere, which is further enhanced by the interior design of the house. The wooden bunk beds for sleeping, which can accommodate a total of four people, the sideboard decorated with carvings, and the crackling wood-burning stove, which can also be used for cooking, round off the inviting and pleasant atmosphere. The early morning hours can be enjoyed on the terrace of the wooden house, adorned with the chirping of birds and the first rays of sunshine falling on the cabin and the faces of the holiday guests. In the garden, you will be greeted by our free-range animals – four cats, our dog Bobby, our chickens, roosters, and ducks. The clubhouse was built as an extension to the vacation apartment that was already constructed in 2015 and is the ideal place to stay for vacationers who want to experience the unspoiled beauty of nature in all its glory during their stay. The wooden house is also a perfect place to stay for hikers, as it is located directly on the 260 km long long-distance hiking trail, which passes right by us. We at the 100Krauthof are partners on the path of life and are always happy to welcome hikers. Just as nature is constantly changing, the 1000Krauthof also changes from time to time and now offers the opportunity for a vacation with a mountain hut character and a crackling fire in the background. Our teepee has now been replaced by a wooden house that combines nostalgia and comfort and is open to all vacationers, hikers, and seminar guests who are attracted by a regenerating and relaxing time in the southern Waldviertel region, at the 1000Krauthof. What makes the 100Krauthaus special: There is no running drinking water inside the house, but there is a sink outside where you can quench your thirst with fresh Ostronger spring water and have a quick wash. As in the old days, the toilet is located outside the house. In front of the house, you will find an outdoor granite trough with a hand pump. Heating is provided by a crackling wood-burning stove, which can also be used for cooking. There is also a small electric hotplate, a kettle, a coffee machine, all the necessary cooking utensils, and a refrigerator. I would like to politely point out that at this time of year, depending on weather conditions (from around the beginning of November to around the end of March), the fountain directly in front of the mountain hut and the washing area right next to the mountain hut cannot be used, as the water pipes are turned off to prevent them from freezing. This means that there is no running water available inside or outside the mountain hut. At this time of year, we provide our guests with drinking water free of charge. Below the mountain hut, there is a fire pit in our garden where you can barbecue over an open fire and enjoy the starry nights in a cozy atmosphere. Firewood for the fire pit and for the wood-burning stove in the 1000Kraut mountain hut is available from us at a price of 13EUR per basket. Larger groups on request. Swimming is possible in the private natural swimming pond. Smoking is permitted outside the mountain hut.
