Casa Botanica de Aranjuez is a beautifully restored and furnished house with the best of vibes. Start or end your Costarican journey here, you wont regret it. The space Casa Botanica de Aranjuez is a charming 90 year old house in the historic Barrio Aranjuez neighborhood. Its roofed usable area is 3767 square feet. The house is made of brick, wood panelling, spanish tiles and cement. It has been fully restored and is up to date with local regulatory specifications. You arrive to an outdoor terrace with large windows on each side and a wooden mahogany door in the middle. There is a grey metal gate in front of the main entrance. The roofed garage with electric metal gate is on the side. As you enter you first see a long hallway and the spanish tile design. Room 1 is the first door to your right. Room 2 is the second. Then you enter the foyer area that opens up into the living area with double height ceiling which gives natural light and ventilation. The kitchen, dining and living room are all on an open plan and conected by large doorless frames and original internal windows that allow to take advantage of the natural light the comes in from the double height skyligh and back terrace windows. Room 3 in on the right side of the living area and has windows facing the back terrace, tropical gardens and sunset. Behind the living area is the main terrace. It is wide and faces the mature tropical gardens. It holds a table that is perfect for outdoor eating, mingling or just relaxing while you enjoy the property, weather, gardens, sunset or rain. The home is adorned with original Centralamerican art. The pieces are enticing. Some make you feel other make you think. We move the art around regulary so expect slight changes from the photos on this site. The Garden also chages throughout the seasons. Down in the garden there is a picknic table and extra outdoor furniture. There are three bedrooms in Casa Botanica. Two master bedrooms each with a king size bed and a private ensuite bathroom. Room one has a sofa and lazy chair for reading or watching tv. Room one has the only tv in the house with cable, apple tv and local channels. The access to the garage is through room 1. Each bedroom has windows facing diferent sides of the home. This is the original floor plan and it works wonderfully. The third bedroom has a Queen size bed and small living area. Room 3 has a large bathroom with a bathtub. We love this bathroom! Overall expect a nice house with great energy and attention to details. Its close to main city attractions like Museums, Downtown Central Market, trendy neighborhoods and parks. We do our best to comunicate our values throughout the Casa Botanica Colletion. Other things to note Barrio Aranjuez is a safe area, right in between the nicest and safest areas of downtown San José and the Escalante dining and local brewery district.
