This is not just a holiday destination—it’s a chance to truly disconnect and embrace the simplicity of island life. Located at 80 Moreton Street, Kiarabilli offers a rare off-grid experience, powered entirely by solar energy and sustained by rainwater tanks. It’s a place where sustainability meets comfort, allowing you to enjoy modern amenities while treading lightly on the environment. The house is thoughtfully designed to accommodate extended families or groups, with five generous bedrooms, three bathrooms, two kitchens, and two separate lounge areas. The open-plan living spaces create a warm and connected atmosphere, while the expansive wraparound verandahs on both levels offer endless opportunities to gather, relax, or retreat. Whether you're sharing a meal, enjoying a sunset BBQ, or curling up with a book in a quiet corner, Kiarabilli provides the perfect balance of togetherness and solitude. Just a short walk from the house lies Bulwer Beach, where calm waters and historic shipwrecks invite exploration and reflection. The surrounding natural beauty of Moreton Island is yours to discover—from sandy tracks and bushwalks to stargazing under clear night skies. At Kiarabilli, you’ll find not only a place to stay, but a place to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect—with nature, with loved ones, and with yourself. Guest access A 4WD is required to access this property. There is no taxi service available to transfer guests from the MICAT ferry to the property. Other things to note Travel to Moreton Island is via: MICAT Ferry (passenger + 4WD): Arrives at The Wrecks, approx. 2km from Tangalooma. If bringing a vehicle, bookings must be made in advance via the Moreton Island Adventures website. Important: There is no taxi service from MICAT to the property. A 4WS vehicle is required. A starter pack of basic items is provided. As this is a self-catering property, please bring food, kitchen supplies, and toiletries based on your needs. There are no supermarkets on Moreton Island. Mobile reception on Moreton Island is limited, with some areas having no coverage at all. Whilst reception on the beach is generally ok, if you plan to explore the island, we strongly recommend downloading maps or any online resources in advance. This property is entirely off-grid, relying on solar panels and batteries for power, rainwater tanks for drinking water, bore water for other uses, and a septic system for waste management. Kiarabilli is proudly off-grid, running on solar power and rainwater. The rainwater is safe to drink, but please be mindful of water usage. The property uses a septic system, so only toilet paper should be flushed—please avoid disposing of anything else down the toilet. For best results, do laundry on sunny mornings and limit electrical use overnight. Turn off lights and appliances when not in use. Please do not bring any electrical appliances, especially those that generate heat (e.g. hair dryers, straighteners, rice cookers, electric fry pans), as they can overload the solar system. No Schoolies accepted.
