The space Villa Antonella has been located within the family property for at least 5 generations; the first to settle there were the parents of Vittoria, my grandmother, in the mid-1800s. Today, 5 generations later, Vittoria is my granddaughter and for this reason the family has decided to give this important name to the apartment placed at your disposal. The apartment is in the heart of the house and despite various renovations carried out over the years, it still retains its original features: thick stone walls, now covered, high windows on the sunny side, niches carved into the walls and lastly, the most important of all: the vaulted ceiling with exposed tie rods. Outside, between the apartment and the garden, you can also see a portion of the original 19th-century flooring and the walls of the family cellar, dating back to the early 1900s, where until a few decades ago wine was bottled according to local tradition. Moving to the outside, you will find two areas: the gazebo and the stone table. The first, now used as a smoking area, was the outdoor area of ​​the family tavern at the beginning of the century, where customers could dine outdoors while enjoying the panoramic view. It is equipped with a wooden and wrought iron bench and a small oval table, both of which are vintage. The second was created in the 1970s by terracing the banks of the garden and is at your disposal as a relaxation area; there you can also find a bench made from a single piece of walnut trunk from the family forest and a large table in local stone. Both outdoor areas enjoy a wide panoramic view that begins with the underlying valley of the Cosia river, continues with the portion of territory that descends from Tavernerio towards Como, and then admire in the distance the plain on the border between Lombardy and Piedmont. On clear and windy days you can even see the Maritime Alps to the southeast and the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines to the southwest. All guests will be welcome and my husband Antonio looks forward to welcoming cyclists who share his passion for this sport. Guest access In addition to the entire apartment, a shared outdoor smoking area and a portion of the garden with furnishings for exclusive use are available. For guests arriving by motorbike or with bicycles, there is a dedicated parking area inside the garage. Other things to note The property is located on Via Chiassino; this road has two accesses and is passable in both directions, but in some sections it is quite narrow; we residents are used to it and pass without any problems, as do small trucks and delivery vans; for those who do not feel safe or do not want to risk it, we suggest reaching us by first setting the navigator to the town of Ponzate and then taking Via Chiassino downhill from there; by doing so you will avoid the narrowest stretch of the road, which is located in the initial part for those who access it from the SP37.
