A scenic 4.5 hours drive from Colombo, this cozy holiday villa is tucked away in lower Haputale, amidst the misty mountains of Sri Lanka’s south central highlands. We are located within easy reach of some of the country’s most picturesque waterfalls, Horton Plains National Park, Stage 13 of the Pekoe Trail, Lipton’s Seat, Ella and the Demodara Nine Arch Bridge. The space Hapu Tales offers guests accommodation in 2 unique and tastefully designed villas that have been built to blend with the natural environment. 4 thoughtfully designed bedrooms have been decorated to create a sense of warmth and comfort. This enchanting property will embrace you in its cozy ambiance making you feel instantly ‘at home’. The calm, white bedlinen with beautiful, bright handloom drapes & cushions come together in stunning contrast to radiate elegance and charm. All the rooms offer a different experience and showcase different views. The 1-Bedroom Suite Villa located in the lower garden sleeps 2 (max 3) and the 3-Bedroom Main Villa located in the upper garden can accommodate up to a maximum of 8 guests in 3 double rooms. Single pull-out cot beds are available for 2 extra guests, if required. We are a perfect base if you want to discover more of the wonders the island has to offer. One of the top ten surf destinations in the world - Arugambay - lies about a 3-hour drive to the east while Yala National Park bordering the Indian Ocean lies about 3 hours south-east of us. Just 2.5 hours south-west, discover the beauty of Udawalawe National Park where you will find elephants everywhere. Guest access Guests staying in the 3000sqft Main Villa have access to a common living room, dining area, a pantry and kitchenette, multiple front decks with stunning views, a covered verandah, a beautifully landscaped garden, an outdoor non-heated pool and a pretty pergola. All bedrooms open into the living and dining area and 2 of the bedrooms have French windows that open up to the panoramic decks. The romantic 700sqft Suite Villa with panoramic mountain views, tucked away in the lower garden located below the main villa features a private entrance with its own garden and an outdoor swing. It is connected to the Main Villa via a staircase.
