Home away from home in Unnaryd

A red-and-white wooden house from 1909, right in the heart of Unnaryd, with a big garden and a private wood-fired sauna. The house has been renovated while keeping much of its original character. It is warm, comfortable and cosy, with several places to sit outside. Unnaryd centre is a few minutes' walk away, with a café, pizzeria, COOP, petrol station and small shops. Nearby you’ll find plenty of opportunities for hiking, cycling, swimming, fishing and canoeing. The space The house sits slightly above the village, with a view over the village towards the church tower. All the rooms have plenty of natural light and are furnished and decorated as an actual home. Sleeping The main bedroom has a double bed. The smaller bedroom has a 140 cm wall bed suitable for one or two people. Living & dining The living room has a fireplace, which is particularly nice during the colder months (and occasionally during a Swedish summer). There is a separate dining room as well as seating at the kitchen island. Kitchen The kitchen is fully equipped for everyday cooking, with an induction hob, oven, cookware, utensils and basics such as salt and pepper. Heating The house has a heat pump, fireplace and adjustable radiators in each room. Garden There are several places to sit outside and enjoy the flowers and greenery. Sauna There is a private wood-fired sauna in the garden, which accommodates up to four people. Sauna use is 350 SEK per session, including firewood and towels. Guest access The property has two separate houses, each with its own entrance and gate from the street. I live in the other house, so you have this house entirely to yourselves. The garden is shared with me, but I try to plan watering and other garden work around my guests to give you as much privacy as possible. There are also a couple of seating areas reserved just for you, which nobody else uses. I’ll leave you to enjoy your stay, but I’m usually nearby and happy to help if you need anything. You might occasionally see me around the garden. Other things to note Bed linen and towels are included. For longer stays, fresh sets can be provided weekly on request. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, with some restrictions. I only accept dogs that do not shed. An EV charger is available with prior notice. Electricity is charged at 5 SEK/kWh. There is no need to deep-clean the house before leaving. I simply ask that you leave it reasonably tidy: wash and dry the dishes, put things back where you found them, and take care of any obvious mess.
