The space You step onto the terrace and before you lies Villa Markhof with its generous garden — one of the largest private gardens in Graz. Your private terrace oasis is 18.5 square meters, with an awning for shade. The golden flat is our newest apartment, and the only one in the entire house with its own terrace. Wherever you look — gold and green and all of this – just 20 meters from the University of Graz. The apartment has two bedrooms, both with box-spring beds (180×200) and pocket-spring mattresses and fresh, high-quality bed linen. In the master bedroom there's also a pull-out sofa bed (160×200) for two more guests. Both rooms have full blackout and face the garden, and both have their own smart TVs. The kitchen has everything you need for a longer stay: an oven, a dishwasher, a microwave, and both a capsule and a filter coffee machine. The kitchen table extends to six seats — ideal for 4, cosily snug for 6. In the golden bathroom you'll find a spacious shower and a hairdryer, the washer-dryer is built into the kitchen — so there's no need to bring extra laundry from home. Fresh towels, an iron and an ironing board are of course included. Fast WiFi works throughout the entire apartment. We're happy to provide a cot and a highchair on request. You enter the golden flat via your own entrance at Schubertstraße 16 — right next to the wooden garden fence. Your own front door, your own staircase — and below you the Markhof/GrazRentals office — it's perfectly quiet. No other guest passes through here. In the same building, just at the other end — one minute away, you'll find the Sorger bakery and café — fresh rolls and good coffee. The large shared garden of the villa is yours to enjoy anytime — for relaxing, reading, or simply soaking up the quiet. Zinzendorfgasse with its restaurants, cafés, student bars and small shops is a three-minute walk away. Public transport is two minutes on foot — bus lines 31 and 63 stop at Uni-Mensa and Uni-ReSoWi. From there you'll reach the main train station or the city centre in just a few minutes. On foot, you can get to the city park and the Botanical Garden in ten minutes and to Graz's historic centre in a quarter of an hour. Graz airport is about 25 minutes away by car. Graz is a UNESCO World Heritage city, a City of Design and a Culinary Capital — and you're staying right in the heart of the villa district, in one of the most beautiful parts of the city. Guest access We don't use keys — which means you can't lose one either. The front door has a fixed code lock; your apartment has a Nuki code lock with a numeric keypad. Before your arrival you'll receive two separate codes by email — one for the front door and one for your apartment. This way you can check in at any time of day or night without waiting for anyone. Check-in from 3:00 PM, check-out by 10:00 AM. Your own secured parking space is in the courtyard — marked with your apartment's colour name. You'll receive detailed driving and entrance instructions with the check-in email. If you're arriving by public transport: From the main train station take bus line 63 directly to Uni-Mensa. From Jakominiplatz take line 31 to Uni-ReSoWi — both stops are just a 2-minute walk from us. If you're arriving by bicycle, there's a bike parking area in the courtyard. Other things to note The apartment is on the first floor without a lift — the private staircase may not be ideal for guests with limited mobility. The golden flat is directly opposite the university on Schubertstraße. The kitchen faces the university and Schubertstraße, all other windows and the terrace door face the garden and Villa Markhof. Both bedrooms have full blackout. There's a guest registration form on the kitchen table in the apartment — please fill it in and leave it there when you check out. This is a legal requirement in Austria for all overnight guests.
