A charming spacious farm cottage with 2 ensuite bedrooms. An open-plan kitchen and living area flows onto a deck with a gas braai (BBQ) overlooking a tributary of the Timbavati river. Wandering around the farm you may bump into giraffe, zebra and other wildlife. There are extensive vegetable gardens and a fruit orchard providing a wide variety of organic produce. There are also ducks, geese, laying hens, bantams and other poultry. Fully solar powered so no electricity outages or blackouts. The space The farm is home to the McIntosh family. They have created an oasis in the bush - an indigenous garden with unique indigenous plants including Baobabs, Warburgia salutaris (Pepperbark) and African ginger as well as a planted medicinal and food garden. Guests can enjoy this beautiful quiet gem in the African bush, serenaded at night by the sound of crickets, hyena, bushbabies, as well as the distant roar of lions, the trumpeting elephant and the rasping call of a leopard. During the day hundreds of bird species, including sunbirds, barbets found on the reserve provide a soothing backdrop. The McIntosh's are excited to be able to share the unique place they call home. Guest access The farm is part of a 700+ acre private and secure wildlife reserve which is safely explored on foot. One can go for walks, runs or cycles and see a wide variety of animals, including giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, kudu, impala, bushbuck and duiker. There are also frequent sightings of leopard, hyena and even wild dog spoor, although they are more shy and are seen less often. Close to the house there is a spacious 5m high deck overlooking the Kruger National Park from where one can enjoy beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and for the more adventurous, even sleep overnight. Other things to note The farm is family friendly and there is a trampoline with a net, a jungle gym with a sandpit and a fully fenced salt water pool. There are two friendly farm dogs, Sally and Gently. Both are comfortable with children and are part of your enthusiastic farm welcome.
