Description

The accommodation is ideally located to explore the most famous beaches of Crete, which happen to be in the western part of it (Grambousa, Balos Falasarna, Paleochora, Elafonisi, Kedrodasos, Sougia) and you can still enjoy the wonderful nightlife of Agia Marina, Platanias and the Old Town of Chania. The space The Renovated Traditional Stone House - Shop is a newly renovated villa decorated with a blend of traditional and modern style. The house consists of 2 floors. The lower floor has a bedroom with a double bed, a comfortable bathroom, a single space with a fully equipped kitchen to make your breakfast or whatever you want! There's also a comfortable couch. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms, with 1 double bed and 1 single bed respectively and 1 comfortable bathroom. It has air conditioning, free WiFi, smart TVs with satellite antenna. Guests can park on the street to the right of the house, and enjoy the lovely terrace across the house, for moments of relaxation as well as the barbecue with their company. Other things to note But there are things you need to know. The Restored Traditional Stone House - Shop, was built about 150-200 years ago, during the Turkish occupation and functioned as a Turkish coffee shop or otherwise a teke of that time. In 1925 it was bought by the brothers of the owner's grandmother and operated as a shoemaker's until the occupation, when the Germans closed it. In 1945 it operated again, as a carpenter's shop this time, for about 2 years and then became a coffee shop. It was the main coffee shop of the village and at the same time there was a grocery store and a butcher shop until 1980. Then it was converted into a warehouse until 2019 when the owner decided to renovate it and fix it as a tourist accommodation. Also in Sirili, there are several shelters from the German occupation, and one of them is preserved intact on the hill south of the village. Legend has it that at the top of the shelter there is a golden bell buried by the Christians during the Turkish occupation. The accommodation is ideally located to explore the most famous beaches of Crete, which happen to be in its western part (Grambousa, Balos Falasarna, Paliochora, Elafonisi, Kedrodasos, Sougia) and you can still enjoy the wonderful nightlife of Agia Marina, Platanias and the Old Town of Chania. The village and the surrounding area offer many hiking and driving routes through nature and nearby villages where there are interesting places to visit, such as the Cretan brewery Harma, the Karavitakis winery, the Botanical Park with the organic restaurant, the Therissos gorge or the equestrian club in Dere, a short distance away by car. Limnoupolis Water Park is close for young or old children. Guests can try the traditional Cretan cuisine in the restaurant-cafe in the village square, located 60m from the house, but also in the surrounding villages. The seaside village of Tavronitis is only 3 minutes away by car from the house and has a supermarket, ATM, pharmacy and restaurants by the sea. Registration Details 00002641908
