Four years ago, we built a free-standing accessory dwelling unit in our yard with a long term rental downstairs and a studio upstairs. Each unit has its own entrance. The Airbnb is upstairs. The space is cozy and comfortable, with a high-quality mattress, black-out shades, plush carpeting and amenities such as a mid-sized fridge / small freezer, microwave, coffee / tea station with a coffee machine and an electric kettle, lots of dishes, books and two-player board games, so that you can relax. The patio furniture is reserved exclusively for our guests who enjoy taking their morning coffee or evening glass of wine and/ or working while overlooking the garden and the lovey view of the trees. If you stay for a week or longer, we are happy to do your laundry. The space is not baby or childproof and we are not comfortable having children younger than 6 years old. My husband is allergic to cats and dogs - please do not bring your pets. You will have the entire studio and the patio to yourself and you have your own entrance. There is a staircase that leads upstairs to your private entrance. We live next door and are happy to support you with local information. Keyless entry. I work from home and am able to respond to requests on short notice. We live in the historic district of Petaluma and if you enjoy walking in residential neighborhoods, you will find lots of beautiful unique houses and front yards as you go exploring our neighborhood. Downtown Petaluma is less than 15 walking minutes away and hosts more than 50 restaurants, bars, bakeries, ice cream shops. And a brewery just opened 8 walking minutes away. We love food and will be delighted to make recommendations. Many of our guests come from the greater Bay Area just to relax for a few days and enjoy Sonoma for its excellent food, wine and beer offerings, as well as for attending concerts at the Mystic, a concert venue with a great selection of artists (my favorites were the Zombies and the Squirrel Nut Zippers!). Free parking in front of our house. We also have EV charging on the property. There is a private bus service to San Francisco and Oakland Airports and you can Lyft or Uber to our house. Public buses are available to downtown San Francisco - the bus transit center is an 18 minute downhill walk from our place. The SMART train goes up to Santa Rosa and down to Larkspur Landing, where you can take the ferry to downtown San Francisco, if you want a unique experience. Or you can take the 101 bus directly down to San Francisco. Lots of free street parking in front of the house. Someone lives underneath the space and we request that our guests be mindful of noise after 9:30 pm.
