Description

Looking for something completely different? Want to surprise someone with an exceptional overnight stay? The high-quality conversion of this former lifeboat into a mini houseboat offers plenty of space to stay and relax on about 11 square meters of living space. The KNUTSCHKUGEL is suitable for a holiday for two or alone. Here you can enjoy life on the water in the Diamantgraben, a short side arm of the Elbe, and explore the Hanseatic city from here. The space In the past, the free-fall lifeboat KNUTSCHKUGEL hung high above the sea on a working platform of a North Sea wind farm. Now, in 2024, it is high-quality converted by carpenters in our diamond pit and is available to you for overnight experiences of a special kind. You get on board through a side hatch. On the right you can see the wide, comfortable bed for two people (1.80 m wide), on the left the kitchenette well equipped for easy cooking. In the middle is a seating area. The skylights let in a lot of light and when it gets warm or for the view, hatches can be opened in the front, top and back. On about eleven square meters you will find everything you need for your rather extraordinary harbor vacation. The interior is comfortably designed with custom-made, carpenter-made elements. You can stay and relax wonderfully here. On the small outdoor terrace on the roof of the lifeboat, you can sit, enjoy the sun and watch the Elbe flowing by at a short distance or the sunset. Notes: The entrance hatch is located on the side of the boat, so you have to climb into the boat, so the boat is not barrier-free. On board there is a small dry separation toilet. In addition, you can use two bathrooms on land with toilet and shower (about 40 meters from the boat). Pets are welcome on board (please register, consider the size of the boat and the fact that the animal must be lifted through the non-ground level entrance hatch). Other things to note There is no bathroom on board, but there is a dry separation toilet on board. There is also a toilet and shower on land that you can use, about 40 meters from the boat. 10 liters of fresh water are available on the boat. The filled water is drinking water, but since it is stored in a tank, it officially has no drinking water quality - so please bring drinking water. (There is also a tap at the jetty.) If you run out of water during your stay, we will refill it. The grounds, the jetty and the boat are not accessible. On the farm, across which you walk to the jetty with the boats, high-quality houseboats made of wood and according to ecological standards are built by hand. On the premises you often meet carpenters and boat-savvy people. You don't have to talk to anyone, but if you want to, a conversation will quickly arise. Sometimes construction noises can be heard. The surroundings are very green, yet it is still Hamburg; nearby is a railway bridge, which you can perceive more or less strongly depending on the wind direction. (Most people don't mind the noise.)
