Townhouse in Snowshoe

This is a comfortable, peaceful, and convenient mountain getaway, with easy access to Snowshoe Mountain (6.5 miles) but without resort fees and atmosphere. Top floor unit in a low-key, small set of condo cabins, great light, privacy. Perfect place to return after a day outside, or hang out in while others play. Close to Greenbrier River Trail, Cass trains, X-country skiing, golf, restaurants, ski and snowboard rentals, waterfalls, and miles of hiking trails. Hot tub and wifi. Easy parking. The space Our place has 2 full bedrooms plus a double loft (with a queen bed plus sofa bed that opens into a double). Sleeps 6 comfortably in private spaces (3 bedrooms). Please note that the loft has slanted ceilings; most adults cannot stand except in the center. Full kitchen equipped with all the basics you need to cook for a crew, including microwave, toaster oven, crockpot, full size fridge and freezer. Two internet TVs, one in the common area and one in the loft. The cabin has vaulted ceilings, new flooring, comfortable beds. It is quiet, has great light throughout the day and is a perfect home base for outdoor adventures. We welcome families. There are kids' books and toys (including a train set) available for use. There is also a pack-n-play you can use (bring your own crib sheets). Families with young kids should know that the stairs to the loft in the cabin are steep and kids will need to be supervised while they go up and down. The loft is open, so again adult supervision required but kids love being up there and it's a great place to watch a movie, play games, etc. If you want to bring a pet, please send us a booking inquiry first and tell us about your pet, as conditions do apply. We want to be sure there will not be frequent barking in the unit as we do have neighbors, and of course, we want to avoid damage. If your pet is approved, there will be an additional flat $25/ pet cleaning fee added. This is a cabin condo in a shared area; it has neighbors directly below and to the side. This means we expect guests to be respectful of neighbors and keep noise down after 11 pm. The hot tub is shared with other units in Overlook Village, but it is in an outdoor hut right next door to the building containing our unit (see photo). Hut tub closes at 10 pm. Summer renters, please note: There is no AC here. There are fans in the cabin to use in the windows and the mountains do cool down at night so in normal conditions it is not a problem. But be aware that if it has been a very hot day the cabin will feel stuffy when you arrive. If you are depending on instant cool when you arrive, this is not your place. Easy, hassle-free parking always available in front of the unit. Winter renters, please note: There is no shuttle service from Overlook to the slopes. We are 10-15 minutes away from the top of the mountain, depending on weather, and roads are very well-maintained. If you are looking for ski-in, ski-out, resort atmosphere, this is not for you. But if you want to enjoy everything the resort has to offer and then retreat to this peaceful, quiet, private slice of the woods where you can step outside and look at the stars...this is your spot. There are no hallways or elevators--you access our place directly from the outdoors. Guest access Everything, including these common areas (shared with others in the condos): hot tub, grilling area, and laundry on premises. Other things to note You are not likely to have cell service in the area but your phone will work with the cabin wifi. There is also a landline in the cabin for your use.
