Monterey Hostel offers PRIVATE ROOM accommodations with ensuite bathrooms. Located 3 short blocks from the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Cannery Row, and the coast, start your Monterey adventure by staying with us! All bed linens and towels are provided, as well as access to hostel community spaces (kitchen, dining, laptop bar, patio, and free WiFi). Private Rooms have a queen and twin/twin bunk bed. The exact room you are assigned may differ from the room pictured, depending on availability. The space Monterey Hostel offers clean, safe, and memorable overnight lodging where travelers can connect with one another, share resources to reduce their impact on the planet, and experience the natural beauty of the Central Coast. We are a newly renovated boutique hostel with 50 beds across 13 guest rooms. Our facility takes inspiration from the numerous national, state, and regional parks that make Monterey Bay so special. Each guest room is unique and awesome! The hostel is a split-level building. Some guest rooms are located on the lower level down a flight of stairs. The upper level is accessible by a ramp and does not require steps. If an accessible room is required, please notify us before booking to ensure availability. We are operated by HostelingOn, a 501(c)3 nonprofit on a mission to preserve and promote the hostel movement. Hostels are lodging facilities that offer communal and private lodging to school groups, families, and travelers. Guests share facilities, resources, and experiences to make travel more affordable, more fun, and less impactful on the planet. Guest access Guests in private rooms have exclusive access to their rooms (they are not shared). Rooms have en suite bathrooms, cozy beds, and cute decor. In a hostel, guests share certain amenities (like a community kitchen, indoor/outdoor common areas, and a coworking bar) to help reduce their environmental impact while traveling. It's also a more social and fun way to experience a new city. All guests enjoy free wifi and a communal kitchen (7am-10pm), dining room, laptop counter, outdoor deck, and courtyard. Other things to note **WATER CONSERVATION** The Monterey Peninsula is in a drought and lacks adequate access to fresh drinking water. To reduce our impact on the local environment, all sinks and showers have push buttons with timers and fixed hot water temperatures to help conserve water and reduce energy waste. **PARKING** Parking is available in the hostel parking lot for $10/night per vehicle. Free street parking is available throughout our neighborhood from 6pm-8am. Public street parking is metered or time-limited during the day, and enforcement is strict. **QUIET HOURS** We have strict quiet hours from 10 PM-8 AM in all rooms and communal spaces. Outdoor community areas close at 10 PM. We want you to enjoy yourself, but please respect other guests and neighbors’ experiences. Violators may be removed and charged for disrupting others.
