Attractively furnished holiday home for 5 people equipped with every comfort, quietly located close to vast nature reserves and beautiful tourist cities of Brabant. ​ A stone's throw from Leuven, in a quiet residential area in Bertem, you will find our recently renovated cozy bungalow Bertha's Home. The ideal location to explore the region such as the nearby nature reserve De Koeheide and Bertembos. For culture lovers, a visit to Leuven and Brussels is certainly not missing. The space Bertha's Home offers all modern comforts such as 2 double bedrooms, a single bedroom, a desk space, a bathroom with walk-in shower and double lava furniture, a separate toilet, a fully furnished kitchen, a large dining/living space, a covered dining/sitting area and a fully fenced garden with various seating areas. Everything is on one level. The spacious and bright living space with simple smartTV and fireplace connects to the dining room and the covered terrace with electric barbecue (no need for charcoal or gas). You can play your favorite music on the bluetooth box. There are a number of board games ready for enthusiasts. The master bedroom has a box spring bed of 180x200cm and the smaller 'cosy' double bedroom one of 140x200cm. The single bedroom has a nostalgic antique metal bed of 80x190cm (not suitable for young children). All necessary bedding is provided. All bedrooms have electric shutters, so full blackout is possible for night time. The new bathroom features a spacious walk-in rain shower and a furniture with a double sink. Hairdryer, shower products and plenty of bath linen are provided. The separate toilet is located next to the bathroom. The fully equipped kitchen is equipped with Smeg fridge (+ freezer compartment), induction hob, dishwasher, oven and microwave. Even a private coffee bar with Nespresso machine and bar chairs are provided. All the necessary cooking utensils including spices, tea, coffee and so much more are waiting for you. In the hall there is an additional built-in sliding door closet with more than enough storage space, a vacuum cleaner, iron and board. Cozy outdoor seating with a glass of wine and a bite to eat under the grapevine. Eat together under the covered terrace; an extra asset in less good weather. Kuvelen at the fire bowl at nightfall. The outdoor space offers you various possibilities, without any viewing. The house features central heating and wifi in all areas. Upon request, the washing machine and drying cabinet in the garage can be used. The garage is not automatically accessible as we use it as a storage space ourselves. You can park your car on the driveway, you can store your bikes in an enclosed storage room. Guest access The house, the outdoor storage and the garden are completely private for guests. Only the garage and a small storage room are not accessible as standard, possibly on request. Other things to note Bertha's Home is located in a quiet residential area in Bertem, near Leuven. Walk down the street to explore Bertembos and the De Koeheide nature reserve. Or take the bike to Leuven via the small roads, the route over the rolling landscape to Overijse or the Park of Tervuren. Even a departure from the Dijle is one of the possibilities. You can walk to the bakery, the butcher or the supermarkets in the village. Fresh strawberries, apples, fruit juice and more can be bought from the local fruit farmer, an artisan prepared ice cream or delicious chocolates at the shop around the corner. Of course, Bertem also has her village cafes (with local beer, the Teusser), (takeaway)restaurants and deep fryer. Prefer a day trip? Leuven, Brussels and Mechelen are easily accessible, by bike, car or public transport. Brussels/Zaventem Airport is a 15-minute drive away.
