Enjoy a comfortable stay in a pleasant space created with love and care by the owners of RIZES. It is located in the traditional village of Zaros, at the foot of the legendary Psiloritis. The village of Zaros is 45 kilometers from the center of Heraklion and 30 minutes from the beautiful beaches of the South. The particularly elegant space is an ideal refuge for those seeking peace, designed to cover every aspect of your holiday comfort, giving you moments of relaxation. The space The fully equipped accommodation has: ✔1 master bedroom with a double bed ✔1 bedroom with 2 single beds in a raised area with an internal staircase ✔1 bedroom with 2 single beds and a private bathroom All beds have ecological anatomical mattresses offering a restful sleep and all bedrooms have air conditioning. The 2 bathrooms are equipped with all necessary sanitary ware. It also has a fully equipped kitchen with electric oven and ceramic hobs, microwave, air fryer, kettle, toaster, coffee maker. The water comes from the natural springs of Zaros, is drinkable and suitable for domestic use. A washing machine, iron and clothesline are available. For your entertainment there is a 40" TV in two bedrooms and a 50" TV in the living room. Safety sockets are available throughout the house, as well as a fire blanket, fire extinguisher, smoke detector and first aid kit. Guest access Guests have access to the entire house and it's amenities, including all bedrooms, living area, a fully equipped kitchen and the private courtyard with lemon trees at the back. Other things to note Below you will find some important information about the village of Zaros and all that it has to offer: - Access to the village of Zaros can be done in the following ways: 📍 Zaros is located about 45 km south of Heraklion and there are several options to reach the village, depending on your preferences: 🚗 By car (recommended) The easiest and most flexible way to reach Zaros is by car. • It takes about 45 minutes from Heraklion via a scenic route. • If you rent a car, you will have the freedom to explore nearby attractions, such as the Rouvas Gorge or Lake Votomo. 🚌 By bus (KTEL) • There are usually 2 buses per day from Heraklion to Zaros, sometimes with a transfer in Mires. • The total journey time is about 1 hour and 30 minutes. • You can check the schedule on the official KTEL website or ask me and I will be happy to help you. 🚕 By taxi or private transfer • A taxi from Heraklion takes about 45 minutes. • The cost is usually 50-60 € depending on the time of day and the number of passengers. • Private transfers from the airport are also available, which can be arranged in advance. ⸻ 💡 Tip: If you are arriving at Heraklion airport, I recommend either renting a car directly at the airport or booking a private transfer for a smooth and easy journey to Zaros. - In the village you will find all the basic amenities within a few minutes. Taverns, cafes, mini markets, bakery, patisseries, pharmacy, ATM and gas station. - Activities in Zaros Village: Zaros is a quiet village surrounded by nature and rich in tradition — an ideal destination for travelers who want to discover the authentic side of Crete. Here are some of the top things to do during your stay: • Hike Rouvas Gorge One of the most scenic hiking trails in Crete, leading through lush forests and stunning landscapes.
