Carlton River Escape

Carlton River Escape was completed in 2023 and built as a peaceful hide away retreat on the back 50 acres of our property. It is nestled right beside our Swift Parrot Conservation Forest area which also shares it space with our local wallabies, wombats, echidnas, pademelons, possums, and eagles. Amid the fresh Tassie air, and the incredible forest views, you will feel completely relaxed listening to the sounds of the wildlife while enjoying the luxury of a secluded brand new home. The space We have purpose built this mini version of our own home at the far end of our property so that you too can experience the feeling of "Escape." Just 35 mins from Hobart CBD, 20 mins from Hobart airport, and 15 mins from Sorell you are so close to all services, yet you feel secluded, with a real sense of comfort and tranquility. Once you have carefully navigated the wallabies down the long winding driveway you will arrive at your private home away from home, with plenty of space for parking and turning around. A unique outdoor space welcomes you. Indulge in the outdoor bathtub, which is absolutely gorgeous on a sunny day, but we think it's best at night when the stars are out, and the fire pot is lit. The stylish home has an open plan living space, where natural light floods the indoors with all day sun. There are plenty of windows to open for fresh air, and a heat pump/air-conditioner to keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. There are two spacious bedrooms, with comfortable queen size beds, luxury linen, and ample wardrobe space. We offer robes for you to enjoy during your stay, which are useful for your outdoor bathtub experience. You will also find games, and books in both bedrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped with all modern conveniences. A large integrated fridge and freezer, dishwasher, oven, gas cook top, microwave, toaster, kettle, percolator and tea pot, including local Tasmanian ground coffee beans and loose leaf tea. We have brand new cookware, table wear, and glasses to suit everyone's preferred drinks. The outdoor deck has a brand-new BBQ, dining setting, and bean bags which are great for relaxing in before or after dinner. If you are quiet enough the wallabies will surround the bushland below from the afternoons. And if you watch carefully, you may be lucky enough to see the stunning swift parrots flying above. The space is primarily setup as a restful getaway for couples, friends, or a small family. Once there you won't want to leave, so we recommend stopping for food items on your way. We offer a complimentary breakfast package on arrival. All local Tasmanian produce, hand selected as some of our personal favorites. We also provide cooking oil, salt, pepper, and sauces. Guest access From the driveway down is all yours to enjoy. Once there it feels very private thanks to the forest of tall trees which provide a screening of solitude. Our long remote street and its residents are mostly quiet. On occasion you'll hear the neighbor's machinery as they farm their land, or they call for their dogs. The nearby properties are farming chickens, sheep, and cattle. We are yet to establish our own farming but hope to introduce some fun piglets to help us turn our soil in the coming months. Other things to note Carlton River is a fantastic location to simply relax and rejuvenate. It's also the gateway to many amazing locations. Just 5 minutes to several beaches, with options for the quiet lagoon at Dodges Ferry, the river mouth at Carlton River, or two surf beaches at Carlton Beach and Park Beach for the adventurers. Primrose Sands beach is 6 minutes away, Dunalley is 12 minutes, and the historic beautiful Port Aurthur is a must if you have the time just 45 minutes drive. Dodges Ferry is our local suburb less than 10 minutes drive away. We recommend visiting Beach Bums for fresh coffee and breakfast and Hill Street Grocer for fresh produce and groceries. There is also a fantastic butcher, and bakery in the area.
