The Room of the Muses" with its Art Nouveau furniture and boudoir bathroom, all the sweetness and refinement of the French way of life. Breakfast is not included in your booking. We offer an immersion into the French Art Nouveau mood by discovering a fascinating aspect of our culture 15 minutes from Lyon in a green area of more than 30 hectares on the banks of the wild Rhône river. The Chambre des Muses is the magnificent guest room of the holiday home of Antoinette and Pierre Juppet, inventor of the Saint Raphaël aperitif. The main house, in its 2-hectare park, has just been restored to its 1900 splendour, gaiety and refinement. You will find or discover beeswax waxed floors, silk curtains, marble fireplaces with their polished brass trim, Marmoreal glassware. Upon arrival, you will walk through the gate, through the park, up the stairs under the canopy; after the lobby, take the grand staircase and the guest vestibule to your room. This is a whole sequence of eclectic architecture characteristic of the art of building of the early twentieth century French that takes place for you. Traditional french breakfast is served on the ground floor in the room that was once the smoking room. Guest access The spaces open to guests are the park, the terrace, the marquise; in the house, the entrance, the hall, the small living room, the main staircase, the vestibule and your bedroom or suite. We draw your attention to the fact that this old house may not be, alas, adapted to traffic with a wheelchair. During your stay We live and work on site. Bernadette and I are at your disposal. You can discover the works of our glass workshop with the creations of Bernadette: jewelry and tableware and those of Matthieu, furniture, lighting and stained glass. Other things to note In our Hotel-Museum, a special effort was made to restore and the original equipments of the house: taps and sanitary, furniture, decoration, and accessories. We have used ancient technologies and materials that require real and caring attention. We thought of all those who appreciate, for a few days, the contact with the life of our ancestors and who are aware of the care that our grandmothers brought to their home. Thank you !
