Description
As you wind your way around the beachside streets of Cooee towards Beach House St Morris, you will soon see why the locals are so fond of their sleepy hamlet with its unique character and charm. St Morris sits at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac beside the new coastal pathway, just a hop, skip and jump from the perfectly nostalgic Cooee Beach. The calm and inviting atmosphere within St Morris is your backdrop, as we invite you to slow the pace, soak it in and enjoy your seaside stay. The space As you enter the narrow blue door of St Morris, the covered portico provides shelter and a place to put down your belongings. The second glass door will be your entry in to the house where we know, you will feel relaxed and right at home. The cottage is full of character and has 3 light and airy bedrooms. You will find a queen bed, 2 king singles and 1 king bed with an ensuite containing a luxurious double shower. The retro kitchen still has some of its charming original cabinetry and contains all you will need if you are cooking or eating in. The stunning sea view is revealed as you walk through to the back of the house where the sun-filled open living and dining area is situated. Depending on the mood of the ocean that day, the sound of the waves can be heard when you open the sliding doors and step outside to the large backyard which has deck chairs to relax in, together with an outdoor dining setting and gas BBQ. A spacious 2nd bathroom with bath, shower and toilet sits off the open dining and living area. Within that is a small laundry including a basin, washing machine and dryer. In the Living Room, the flat screen Samsung Frame TV with Bose sound system will ensure your entertainment is enjoyed to a high level. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire house. Other things to note LOCATED BEACHSIDE 🏖️ COOEE BEACH 🏖️ We are beachside Cooee. Sixty five steps from the front door to the shared coastal pathway and less than a 2 minute walk before your feet hit the sand on Cooee Beach, one of Tasmania's best kept secrets. No noisy, busy highway to navigate, or disturb your peace. Stepping on to Cooee Beach is like stepping back in time. Day or evening, it is perfect for lazy strolls along the pristine stretch of sand, any time of year. The beach is un-patrolled, however a safe spot to swim. Apart from the sounds of the sea, penguin chatter is the only other night time sound you are likely to hear. 🐋During the spring months, it is not uncommon to sight whales and dolphins cruising by or having a frolick off our shores.🐬 🌊OUTDOOR SPACE WITH SPECTACULAR VIEWS The large backyard is a perfect spot to relax and take in the ocean sights and sounds, enjoy some outdoor dining and witness the breathtaking sunsets and view across the ocean to Table Cape. 🚲SHARED COASTAL PATHWAY🚶♂️ It is so exciting that the shared coastal pathway has been constructed along the old rail corridor of North West Tasmania . We are right next to the pathway and our section is complete, with new landscaping and fabulous state of the art seating nearby. The pathway brings a new vibrancy to the area and if you are a cyclist, runner or walker, our location is a perfect base to explore towns east and west of Cooee. 🚘DISTANCE FROM BURNIE🚘 We are approximately 3km from the Burnie CBD. An easy 5 minute drive. If you like to walk or ride, the flat pathway follows the coastline all the way along, behind West Park Oval and the University precinct and on to the boardwalk that leads you to the beautiful Burnie foreshore. The Little Penguin colony is located along the foreshore in Burnie a very short distance from the city centre. 🐧 PENGUINS - (NO PETS).🐧 You can observe baby penguins in their burrows any time of the day along the Burnie waterfront boardwalk, head over to the Little Penguin Observation Centre at Parsonage Point, The viewing area where you can see penguins up close is level with wheelchair access and is child friendly. Burnie is known for its penguin colonies and there are many established all along the coast The best months to plan your visit are between October and March. This is when the Little Penguins are breeding and nesting on the land, and you can witness the unforgettable sight of penguins returning to their burrows to feed their young and interact with each other. You can hear them over the fence and at the beach (and presently under our back deck). Each day at dusk, just as the sun is setting, the little fairy penguins come ashore to feed their young. They waddle up the beach to their nests, where they spend the night. It's an amazing event to watch, and if you're lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time, you can see multiple little penguins coming ashore all at once. *NB Please be respectful and view them from a safe distance as they go about their business. Because of this, we don't allow general pets to stay with us in order to protect these important little inhabitants We will provide more detailed information about the penguins for you when you book, including details of information tours that are conducted along the boardwalk close by. 🌴🌴🌴 SAVU SAUNA If you like your saunas, book a spot at Savu Sauna, only 100 metres along the pathway. Followed by a very chilly dip in the ocea, it's a great way to improve your well-being or improve recovery after exercise. Registration Details DA 2022/90
