To be honest, we don’t even look at forecasts down here apart from the temperature ranges. The weather here is at the mercy of some playful gods and you can typically enjoy a good rotation of sunshine, clouds, wind, stillness and precipitation all in one day! It's beautiful ALL year. St Martin’s is fully insulated and has both a log fire and radiant wall heater for cooler periods whilst the stonework and natural airflows keeps things comfy in the warmer weather too. A fire can be lit before arrival during winter months and firewood/kindling is provided all year round. A delightful timber sauna is also available, which is electrically heated for ease and uses traditional steaming stones. We provide a selection of period games and activities from yesteryear to keep you entertained at all times. An outdoor firepit with surround seating off the deck is available. The new kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances / cookware and boasts a delightful servery through to the main dining space. It makes for a perfect space for cooking enthusiasts, not to mention world-class produce available on your doorstep. We also provide a gas burner, a Weber "go-anywhere" charcoal BBQ and picnic supplies for those wishing to cook whilst venturing into the wild. For much more info, news and goodies please see our au site - stmartinsoftasmania. We look forward to welcoming you! Guest access St Martin's of Tasmania best vehicle access with parking space is on Church St. This street runs parallel to the Arthur Highway on which you'll approach the village and then enter from Bay St. Put 'St Martin's of Tasmania' into maps and you can park in the clearly delineated space right next to the church. Walk down the immediate short end of the church, passing the large red stained glass window, around to the front entrance way. Other things to note Upon request the Luxe Welcome hamper pack contains delightful hyper-locally sourced goodies - champagne, oysters, chocolates, coffee, cacao + a bunch of fresh breakfast staples including freshly baked bread from our local baker, butter and milk from the dairies, our own free range farm eggs, freshly made granolas and pure honey. To get the best out of your stay feel free to reach out to us once you book and we can help with an itinerary depending on your preferred activities. The Peninsula is a relaxed area but we still provide luxury products for hair and body, as well as a GHD hairdryer, to help you spruce up before heading to one of the gorgeous local wineries, restaurants or nearby premises. If you have really pressing circumstances where you must have more than two people, please get in contact and we can review the situation together to see what we can do. (Our base price is for two guests sharing and enjoying this space intimately). St Martin's is not accommodating for little ones or pets due to delicate antiques, an outside deck without railings, unprotected fire places etc The location is rural but the village does have a little activity at certain times. We are located near the 'secret back entrance' to an infants school so at times in the daytime you may hear some happy laughs and a school bell over the hill at 8:30am on weekdays.
